If you're one of the people that can't stand this seasons home strip, you could do a lot worse than an Italian strip with Osvaldo on the back. Would keep NC feeling happy too....
Nah...I'm one of those people too tight to buy any kit! That t-shirt has got me thinking though...........I've got a friend that does t-shirt printing...................
Was discussed earlier. Ollysaints said 17, which makes sense, because it's the number he had at Espanyol.
lol @ that Sunderland thread. Also how much sour grapes is there around over Saints. Most fans seem to think that we came out of admin paying pennies in the pund to the creditors. ignorance of course but I have to stop myself from stirring things up by telling them that the club was bought in an honourable way and all debts paid up. Also can't get over how stupid most teams fans are when they go on about FFP rules. Do they not understand that we are paying big transfer fees but our wage bill is much lower than many of theirs? esp Spam who are at the 54m limit already and can't add anymore until they offload players that noone wants on the wages they are on. Their problem offloading their cast offs due to wages makes our problems (Sharp, Fox etc.) look like small fry. Can't wait till Saturday: Boruc Clyne-Lovren-Yoshida-Shaw Morgan-Wanyama Lallana-Osvaldo-Rodriguez Lambert
Brilliant signing, but my excitement is tempered by the possibility that he doesn't improve us that much. WHile he is a better player there isn't a place for him in our system that doesn't compromise our 2 best players - Rickie and Gaston. We play a fluid front 4 but I feel Osvaldo needs to be the last man not least for his very good heading ability, for that to happen we will have to significantly change the way we play I feel. I feel that Rickie also needs to play predominantly as a striker, and Gaston predominantly as a CAM, which would mean 1 of the 3 isn't used optimally or we play with no wingers a useful option I feel: As I said earlier it should work better in the long term having an excellent player but I don't see Osvaldo fitting in seamlessly football-wise and there is always his questionable personality but I am not concerned about that for the minute.
I see rabbitspectrum's point. Of course Osvaldo can play wide, but his best position is probably at centre forward where Lambert plays. Lambert getting his cap unfortunately hurts Saints a bit, as Lambert now is legitmately in play for WC. Both Osvaldo and Lambert will need to get their goals to make the team. If Osvaldo plays wide left it also takes away playing time from Lallana, who has given a lot to the club and also is looking to get into the national side. There are definitely some potentially tricky logistics to work out. But that's what happens when you move up to the top levels. We have to get used to it. This will be a test for Pochettino, but I think he is up for the task.
*bangs head against wall* When will fans stop thinking about 11 players. We are creating a squad that will rotate, be flexible during games, will create competition for places, scare the bejesus out of other teams (eventually) and give me a hard on at the thought of which quality player will have to really show his stuff when he gets his chance!! It really isn't difficult.
If Pablo is as good as our other two summer purchases, I will be delighted! The squad beginning to look pretty strong and have ability to deal with a cup run, injuries and suspensions
Sky finish their article by getting Lovren's international country wrong DTLW hurry up and qualify and start demanding journalism standards increase.
