Some people seem desperately against not only the petition but the idea of questioning this decision. This goes back to long before the name change itself but all the arguments over the summer where people seem to have got fed up of those of us strongly against the change, so they're now going out of their way to support the change.

My own position is this (for what it's worth):

I don't wish the club to become "Hull City Tigers" nor "Hull Tigers"

I do understand the potential benefits of modern day marketing & branding, value creation et cetera, investments & funding that would buy players, develop facilities et allow us to maintain a top level club.

However I am not convinced that this strategy will work.

That said, no other club has done this so there is no evidence & if you consider this a truly new and innovative idea on behalf of the Allams, we may be ground-breaking.

If Hull City Tigers/Hull Tigers become a pioneer in English football others may, indeed will follow.

They are taking a risk, something alien to Hull City Council.

Maybe because there is a facility for comments and conversation, what's the problem with that?

Some people? You seem to be able to label folk on the slightest of reasons; are you surprised that there are opinions that differ from yours? Are you going out of your way to argue your corner; going so far as to close a very innocuous thread of reasonably well stated points of view of neither politics or religion. Must we subscribe to your view of life to take part in a conversation on here?

The only way to get everyome against the Allams and Thompson is if City get relegated.

Nobody would touch us if this was to happen, as the investment won't seem worth while.

And if this happens then these set deceitful cowards will look like a set of complete twats for chasing the money.

    Sad but true.

No need - just because someone has a differing view on the subject does not make them a twat, Allam arselicker, cocksucker etc, all of which have been aimed at some of our posters in the last few days

Fair do's - I've not been coming on here much over the weekend, but when I did all I saw was a lot of arguing and anybody who wasn't vehemently against the re-brand seemed to get a lot of personal abuse.

But if I misunderstood I apologise.

......and if we thrive in the Premier and things take off then.....
we get a multi million pound shirt contract with Tiger Beer and a couple of American billionaire start fighting over each other to throw money at the club.......

Then at Christmas there will be queues at the ground and Princess Quay shop with people buying merchandise and everyone will wonder what all the fuss was about.

Then the posters on here will quietly remove the 'Allam's Football Club' off their names and they will join the silent majority.

And, with the influx of investment, Allam will build a sports and conference centre at Melton, and the re-branded 'Hull Tigers' will switch to that stadium and drop the name 'Hull' from their title.

And then, John, 'your' club will be no more......

Andy: it worked both ways, with those against the change arguing why (for whatever reason/s) and those for the change, also insulting the 'dinosaurs'.

You're probably right Stan. Like I said, I didn't come on much over the weekend so didn't see everything that was posted. Just that what I did see did seem to be OTT personal abuse aimed at Scarbs/Filey and a few others

    Signed.

I'm a Pompey fan, till the day I die, so I know what it's liek to have your football club used as a rich kids play thing. The name represents the city, and a community. Whilst footie clubs have to be ran as a business, everything should be done to make sure it stays as part of the community it was built by and who it serves. It should never became a brand.
