I think they would want at least 3M+ especially seen as he has years left on his contract. Where he is unproven and has done well at Championship level but was nothing better than what we had. Where as if we look abroad i have no doubt we can get someone proven in a top division and cheaper.

I doubt Huddlestone deal is true either, Bruce has alluded to the fact he is looking abroad so probably a sly dig at a few clubs in England for asking to much.

I dont think it is a sly dig. He actually said that in a bunch of interviews that English clubs were over valuing their players and he could get the same player for a lot less elsewhere.

Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reports this morning that Hull is interested in signing FC Twente attacking midfielder Willem Jansen.

And that was it, just one line in an article about the transfer rumours at Twente so I wouldn't make a big deal out of it. He ain't good enough to play EPL in my opinion anyways.

On Sky Sports website:

"De Telegraaf claims that Manchester United are ready to let Dutch full-back Alexander Buttner leave, with Turkish outfit Besiktas strongly linked."

Shame we don't have the money, as he is a quality player - in this new 4-3-3 he'd be ideal as he could play anywhere along the left side in the 4, 3 or 3; versatility that would give us good cover in many positions. If Brady or Aluko get injured, we only really have Boyd who can cover that role.

Yea, read that this morning as well, didn't think of posting it on the Hull board though :p

Seen this crop up in a couple of places now, does anyone know anything of him?

Attacking midfielder that had two great seasons at Roda JC. Went to FC Twente on a free transfer and hasn't played that many matches in the past two seasons. Mostly sub ins. Good passing and positioning is what stand out but his first touch and agility are bad. Can't control a decent hard pass. His speed is average but he is very ball secure and his vision and tactics are good. He acts as the link up player in midfield and has a the creativity to set up the attack. But overall he is just very average and because of that, he is struggling at Twente. I very much doubt he will do any good for Hull, and at age 27, he won't improve that much to keep up with the EPL leaguel. He has the basic qualities but he won't be a star player.

I don't know anything about him as a player, but I do know he played 38 times for FC Twente last season and he started the majority of them.

He did, but he was invisible most of the games. And he got subbed in/out 25 of those games. In his first season he created next to nothing, last season he picked it up a tiny bit. But compared to Chadli, Tadic and Fer, he is by far the weakest link on the midfield.

You're not making me very excited about this lad. <laugh>

To be honest, you shouldn't. By the end of the season, the guy hadn't played a full game in 2 months. He got even got benched a couple of times last season, check his streak: http://www.transfermarkt.com/en/willem-janssen/leistungsdaten/spieler_19409_2012.html
Twente had a dreadful season and this year it's only going to get worse now that Fer, Chadli and Douglas are gone. So I'm guessing if he's pushing for a transfer, it's more because he is bailing out.

We need a winger and if he can also play as a striker then his versatility will appeal to Bruce. Not sure Esbjerg will want a ton of cash for him either. Could be a good move.

Looks to play anywhere across the middle, great in a 4-3-3 as he can play in the middle 3 or in the front 3 if Aluko or Brady get injured.
