I've had faith in Bruce since we signed Figueroa that we would spend a few million on a 'marquee' signing. This would be exactly what I was after.
If we were interested in Huddlestone (or had the budget), we would have gone for him already. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see him come but this is just the agent stirring it up so West Brom, West Ham or Fulham make a move.
Now Huddlestone linked to Cardiff. And apparently Eric Tie Bi did not impress tonight so may not be signed.
Just noticed this from Phil Buckingham... @hullcitymike It would take a huge change in transfer policy. Big fee, big wages. Beyond City I feel.
But he did impress in the other game. I don't see Huddleston coming here. Amalfitano we're waiting on to see if he actually wants to come to us. Apparently his club have given the green light for the move.
Didnt he say in an interview that he didnt want to play for us? Or was that another player that I am thinking of. Was recently.
It was when we were first linked to him, hence our interest cooling. But it seems as though something has changed as we're very much interested again. Among all this, why aren't we going in for Jeff Hendrick at Derby? We can't afford Will Hughes so I won't entertain that notion, but Hendrick is their star player in my opinion and wouldn't break our budget. Better to get him now before the season starts and he really gets going.
I can't remember which article, but I read in the HDM that it may take some convincing that East Yorkshire is the place for him.
The HDM seem to pour cold water on everything they hear. It seems odd that every rumour they print is 'wide of the mark'. Have they been told to keep schtum while Brucey goes about his business?
Briand said he wasn't interested, but I'm pretty sure there was a similar quote from Amalfitano(though I could be wrong).
I dont think they have poured cold water over any of the players which we have gone on to sign though, have they?
Well that remains to be seen, but it seems like we've been linked to a lot of names, some of which will no doubt be on Brucey's list and they've said that pretty much every single one isn't true.
I think they would want at least 3M+ especially seen as he has years left on his contract. Where he is unproven and has done well at Championship level but was nothing better than what we had. Where as if we look abroad i have no doubt we can get someone proven in a top division and cheaper. I doubt Huddlestone deal is true either, Bruce has alluded to the fact he is looking abroad so probably a sly dig at a few clubs in England for asking to much.
