If you keep hold of him i can see this all resurfacing in January. He wont be cup tied in europe and he will miss the first 6 games of the season anyway - it could still all be up in the air come January which won't be good for either club involved. But for the player that gives him half a season still to impress to guarantee his already very safe WC spot with Uraguay. Getting the deal done now is beter for all 3 parties involved. Been there and done that with players at Arsenal. Get rid quick and replace them is the way to go.
Sorry Suarez is treating your club in a disgraceful manner especially after the way the club stood behind him during his antics this claptrap about Champions League it is about money he thinks he will get more elsewhere or he hopes your club will panic and offer him another contract paying him even more than he is worth to try and keep him. If he thinks moving to another premiership club is going to result in him being treated differently by the press he obviously has no idea about what the papers think about his antics to date. Perhaps he hasn't found anyone to read them to him yet as he seems to think that somehow it is all Liverpools fault that he is in so much trouble, for a player with his skill to resort to the antics he does seems to any neutral to be beyond belief why does he dive so often it is so premeditated sometimes that he could probably have scored if he hadn't tried to win a penalty. The problem now is that unless the officials are 200% certain that he hasn't dived they will not give a penalty even when he is fouled now and this now gives a certain degree of freedom for defenders to foul him in the reasonable belief that they will get away with it. Seems so stupid to me with his skill he does not need to try and con the officials but he has been seen to do it so often that being human they are reluctant to get conned again.

I am now of the thinking that it is highly likely that a deal will be done. No idea what twists and turns are yet to come but i think ultimately some kind of agreement will be made. All bridges are burnt and i can't see 'Pool fans welcomeing him back with open arms if he doesn't move!

Managers an clubs threaten this sort of thing all the time but when was the last time a TOP quality player was pushed into the reserves and not played rather than being sold? I can't think of a single example..

RVP had one year left on his contract and was 29 hence the 'low' figure. Suarez is in his peak and has 3 years left on his career. As you say, we value him at £50m+ - just bid that much and we'll happily let him go!
