That's my point! But nonetheless, there is no possibility of us signing him. He has turned down Chelsea and Real Madrid because his heart is set on playing for Bayern and nobody else.
Agreed, I can't see him realistically at any club in the PL. I read something today about the PL not being an attractive option as it once was for foreign players. I wonder if that has something to do with our transfer problems this summer. For once we don't have to worry about keeping our best players but we can't get a deal done for love or money.
Mandzukic would be among the most underwhelming signings out there. On top of that, he's another target man (albeit superior to Giroud). No thanks.
Not sure about Fellani (sounds like bullshlaka) but I was under the impression that Higuain deal was agreed and Real increased the asking price from 24mn to like 34 million (presumably because that is what Napoli offered) which in that case fair enough to Wenger and CO.
There's no way that Higuain was worth £35m and you're right that Wenger did the right thing in not paying that for him. Napoli had cash from the Cavani deal and they got mugged for him. The same thing will happen to the spuds if they try and buy anybody with the Bale cash (if he goes) Clubs will hold them to ransom.
Brazilian club Atletico Mineiro have accepted a £21.8m offer from Shakhtar Donetsk for midfielder Bernard, 20, although the player has yet to agree to a move to Ukraine. Arsenal and Porto are also interested in the Brazil international. http://esportes.opovo.com.br/app/es...z-nao-ter-pressa-para-ir-embora-do-galo.shtml Another "transfer target" seems to be slipping away from us.
I know Arsenal like to do everything in secret but it's slightly worrying when the papers arnt even bothering to link us with anyone
Looks like Spurs have signed Soldado: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23531981 Soldado and Paulinho already. Meanwhile at the Emirates sweet **** all. Great job guys!!!!! ****ing incompetent twats. **** off Arsene you gutless deluded old ****!!!!!!!!!!!!
The problem is that statement before the transfer window even opened. We were hoping for Rooney, Fellani (who has now been linked to ManUre) and Higuain, the longer no one is signed the more the feeling is going to grow that this was jsut a PR exercise. I am not advocating signing anyone for the sake of it, but I do feel we could of been a lot more assertive in our dealings. To be honest the transfer side has not really been the same since Dein left.
We were never going to get Rooney. Only an idiot would believe that. Fellaini could happen but the guy doesn't deserve 110k/week+ wages. Higuain tbh could have happened but then Napoli got P$G cash and Real hiked the price so the club backed off. I still think we'll make 2-3 signings.
