If we are willing to go to £40 Million for Luis Suarez. Why not test Dortmunds resolved with a £40 Million offer for Lewandowski? Klopp could do alot with that kind of money. I know the guy has verbally agreed to join Bayern but nothing official has been signed. He's still a player on the last year of his contract. I'm sure Dortmund would be MUCH happier to sell to us also. We need to have a few options. Not just put all our eggs in one basket.
I think he has his mind set on a move to Bayern. Because if he was willing to move elsewhere, then the likes of City and Chelsea would have done anything to get him.
It would be wonderful if that were to happen, we certainly have the funds or somebody has been lying.
Sure, everyone knows he's keen on Bayern. I still think its worth an approach though - maybe Wenger could change his mind? There's no harm in trying. For me he would be the perfect signing. (Well him .. Luis Gustavo and Fabregas)
True - I should, perhaps, have said that I feel that he has not been dealt the hand that a lot of fans think he has. I do agree that a lot of us are just guessing - further fuelling frustration for many
If Bayern are using Guardiola's false 9 formation (they've been trying out Ribery and Robben through the middle), does that mean Mario Mandzukic is available? Would be an excellent signing, and would cost £20 million tops.
A little ironically, the rumours about Suarez leaving started back when Guardiola was announced as their new manager because he likes the false number nine. Plus Suarez's agent being Pep's brother too. I've not seen a link to Bayern for a couple of months now though
that will be in the same way that we were linked with Rooney , Higuain , Fellaini , Jovetic...all have slipped thru Arsenes greasy mitts . " Higuain would now be an Arsenal player had Wenger not baulked at paying Real Madrid an extra €2.3m and decided that, if he was going to spend a €29m fee, he may as well do so on Suarez, who he regards as a player of even greater quality. Fellaini would also be an Arsenal player if Wenger sanctioned the €116,000-a-week contract that the player's camp feel he is entitled to. The Gunners have so far offered merely to match his €87,000-a-week Everton deal. " sauce ..goal.com
Do you honestly think there is even a remote chance Lewandowski would choose Arsenal over Bayern? Trading Guaranteed CL for possible CL, trade playing for the current German and European Champions for a team that just scraped 4th in the PL? That resides more in pure fantasy than it does in any sort of slim possibility, maybe it will happen in an alternate universe
That comes from quite a reliable source and I think we will get our man here. Young player but very talented from what I hear.
If you want my honest opinion, I think something has happened with Wenger and the board since Gazidis made that statement about having loadsa cash to spend. I get the feeling we aren't going to see much in the way of signings this summer. Something is wrong.
