Another transfer Wenger'd. This is the danger when you lose all concept of the relevance of actually winning trophies. If Arsenal staff and fans want to hide in their own cultish bubble of financial reports they should at least invest in a representative who still has at least one foot in the real world.
Its not the first summer you've been told you have spending power. So far, this is a normal summer for Arsenal!
Shut up astro you peanut - some african kid who thinks he's too good for comming for a trial can **** right off. If Wenger just signed [players without beign sure of them and we flopped we wouldhave hishead.**** some 22 year old telling us how to go about our transfer dealings.
@Gerrez - not at all. For the first time the noise out of the club is Real. The peoplewho previously backed-up the idea that we had no money have now chanced there tune - everyone around the club says the money is now there to spend. All our new financial dealsare comming into place and the money is there. On top of that no major players on there way out. This is a very different summer to our other summer transfer windows and thats why its so important and people are getting so frustrated.
He's 22 - thats still young - don't see the problem with me calling him a kid. I have no need to doany research - i'm not remotely interested.
It was meant to be real every other time too. the club should have more money because the increased TV deal start this season so all Premier League clubs have more to spend. Until Arsenal actually splash the cash, I'll remain doubtful
@gerrez - perfectly acceptable to remain doubtful considering the previous summers. I get your point. But this summer the money is actually there. Whether it is spent is a different story. But the money is there now, not just the TV deals but new sponsorship deals as well, on top of trimming the squad down to its smallest size in years to free up squad space and wages.
I don't doubt the money was there in previous year either TBH, the question is (as you quite right put) whether the club will spend it. I actually quite like Arsenal and out of the top five of last season, I'd prefer you guys to win the league etc. Its just unfortunate that we have three bigs that are that much further ahead making us (along with Spurs) rivals for the fourth spot (not that we're on the same level as you two, yet!)
Maybe you should take him then as you can't afford Papadopoulos (yet) and are known for showing your players the respect they deserve *cough* Reina *cough*
Yeah, this infestation of cockroaches is just getting tedious now, all they are doing is arguing with anyone who disagree's with them, majority of us will try to put up a decent retort but it's always overlooked by stupid comments. I know I've been involved in the name calling but at the beginning I tried putting across some decent points, but it soon became clear that no matter what I say it would be met with pathetic replies.
Somebody from the club announced, loudly, at the beginning of the transfer season that we had pots of money to spend. This has raised expectations beyond normal levels and has also tipped the balance away from us in negotiating terms. In this day of 24 hour rolling news, twitter and other media technology, it has become much harder to do transfer dealing in the 'old' way. Papers exaggerate the smallest of titbits and fans get all agitated because 'nothing is happening'. There are a few players about who have moved for the money - not necessarily meaning that we have missed out on anyone yet. It is interesting to note that the Champions are also frustrating their fans with a lack of purchases. We still have a month to go. September 2nd is the time to assess whether any club has been busy enough and next may will reveal who really did or didn't buy well.
Except the season starts 17 August (and even that assumes no preseason training). Transfers beyond this date should be because of injuries or other circumstances beyond your influence. #idealworld
