I would, but I honestly don't think Bale is better than Ronaldo... And when Ronaldo was sold he was already peaking. Bale will get better, but in no way will be be Ronaldo good.
Spurs seem to be having a bit of bother bringing players in so if they lose Bale they lose any shot they have at a top 4 finish. Whats that worth?
Yes 85mil buys 4 top quality players, Bale is one man and all it takes is one daft tackle and he's out.
This. Bale staying brings them in £80 million over 2 years if they make CL. They would still have a 26 year old player as an asset in 2 years, should this happen. Football is tarnished by fast money, but Spurs could well end up seeing themselves financially, and sportingly worse off to sell Bale. He may not do the stepovers etc that Ronaldo does, but he is every bit as effective, and a lot more of Bale's goals are pivotal, points winning goals. Ronaldo is better, of course he is, but is he a bigger influence on Madrid? No, not really, they'd win just as many games without him in all likelihood, if he scores 50 in a season, you can bank on 3-4 hat-tricks, and 7-8 2's, there's half of his goals in a quarter of games. People call Spurs 'Bale FC' which is a wee bit harsh, but it is fair to say he is the individual footballer that has the most impact on his team. If Sours can keep him, they'd do right to do so at all costs, as they will spend the next 20 years trying to replace him, and failing.
@PureTransfers Real Madrid have offered £51m + Di Maria + Coentrao for Bale. (Sky Sports News) ‪#‎RMFC‬ ‪#‎THFC‬ I'd say yes he will
That would be some offer. Bale is irreplaceable though, no matter who they get, losing Bale would weaken them. It's about how serious Spurs are about becoming title challengers, if they are, they keep the best player they can possibly have at this moment in time.
Do Spurs need the cash? The Sky money just pumped in has made most EPL clubs quite wealthy. I think Levy will say NO however I think Bale will get his way
I'd say £18million for Di Maria & £12 million for Coentrao. It's a clever offer, similar to the cash value, but in effect offering a replacement for Bale, and a player in a position Spurs are openly looking to strengthen. No question the 2 players would be a great fit for Spurs.
I'd definitely take it! Di Maria might have had a bit of an off-season last year, but he'd still be up there with the best LWs in the PL. As a replacement for Bale they couldn't wish for much better. Coentrao would be a cracking LB as well. I almost think that offer would make Spurs stronger, just because of the improvement at LB. And the £51m would do a lot too...
The fact that we are discussing Bale on the Sunderland forum shows just how big a player he is. Does that answer the question itself?
I'd snap their hands off. Bale could just as easily get an injury and be ruled out for the next 12 months or his form could go down the pan. Sell him now and they have 2 players and a shed load of cash to bring in another 2 or 3 quality signings to strengthen in depth. Spurs are far too reliant on one man to ever become a top 4 club or seriously mount an attempt on the league. Its not to a rival so there is no conflict of interest. Sell.......Sell ....Sell for me.
Hope he stays at spurs so we can all sing "he looks like a chimp"again haha funny as **** down Tottenham like
