It frustates me that there's no accountability for the media. They can manufacture sheer nonsense and there's no one to tell them off because there's absolutely no quality control. I appreciate that they have to fill column inches somehow, but surely the editors and writers should have some pride in their work.

It's utter drivel. Why would he ever leave us!?

How would you control that? There's no way to prove or disprove such a rumour. Also there are controls in place to prevent the media from printing demonstrably untrue stories.

I would not be the least surprised if Lambert was poached by Reading and with club now increasingly looking to Europe and South America forplaying staff, I think that Lambert won't be our only English player looking over his shoulder. I would be curious to see how much Lallana and Cork feature in Pottechino's plans too. Lambert would be an excellent acquisition for Reading and you can unstand why the press sees that is such a good fit.

I would be gutted to see Lambert leave yet the "modern game" seems to need to be played by continental players at the highest level because British players simply aren't good enough. Lambert has been a revelation for Saints and has grown as a player to become a true Saints legend. I would be saddened if he left as he has been a loyal servant and served the club exceptionally well. That said, you do wonder just how much the "old fashioned English centre forward" is valued in today's game.

If we where to let Lambert go, we would definitely need to sign an additional striker or two. So unless that happens I don't see it happening!

Someone online should count how many links or rumours happen, then show up who is worse. May make them buck there ideas up a bit

I don't think he will leave but if we do spend £15-20 million on a new striker then it's not impossible that we might be prepared to sell Lambert and he might be prepared to leave.

Can't get excited by the Rickie rumours, too stupid to take seriously!
We are already short up front, we are desperately struggling to sign one good quality at the moment to improve our front line so why would we consider selling Rickie for peanuts only to have to sign two strikers who may or may not make it in the EPL?
Absolute bollox!
