Tarrabt? Mate he has proved nothing in the Premiership - Championship player at best. He is also greedy, has a bad attitude and a ****

I agree, he would be a huge risk. I just think the lad has talent and beggars can't be choosers.

I couldn't agree he is championship at best, I think its more the jury is still out. I think he made only 27 apps last season including subs, scoring 5 goals. The greed would be the real problem as the whole point would be to bring the best out of Cisse. I watched him a couple of times where he was top class, one game against Chelsea he gave a stunning all round performance. It depends if someone can harness it. May be one of those that blossoms a bit later as he grows up a little.

I don't necessarily think I'd want him becaus eof the undoubted issues, I am more trying to think of realistic options for that number 10 we need.

The papers can't even be bothered to make things up about us any more.

It's true: the only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about.

Papiss Cisse has not travelled with the squad to Portugal.
Ryder has stated Cisse wanted to travel but was told he couldn't until Wonga dispute is resolved.
    What is going on?

    One can only speculate.
But I sense he is angling for something and apparently JFK has agreed terms with Man U for a swap deal with Mr Rooney.

I must get out of the sun, I think I'm suffering from sunstroke.

Yeah, read this. Looks like such crap. Happy to play in the Barclays Premier League, wear Northern Rock/Virgin Money, play against teams with Bwin or Bet365 on shirts, kick a ball in stadiums with similar sponsors all around the pitch, earn a salary that's tantamount to theft, but wear Wonga? Praise Allah no.

Maybe his religious beliefs are a bit more swayed by APR.

Anyway, he can fck off for all I care now. Dreadful last season, maybe he can go and replace Lewandoski. Perhaps Pardew's comments about two strikers are taking this guy into account. When can we start a new "Number 9" thread?

So we get the much mooted Number 10, but only at the expense of a Number 9? Drat.

Rumours breaking that Spuds have now inquired about his availability, opportunism or coincidence?

Flog him and flog him quick but NOT to a rival Premier League club please, especially not them.

A crazy and amateurish situation, so totally NUFC.

TBH I thought we would have tried to offload him by now after last season.

He wants to go, and he's just using WONGA as an excuse to push a move through and look to be on the moral high ground.

Whether you agree with the WONGA deal or not, Cisse cannot be seen to hold the club to ransom.

A dozen games at the end of the season before last, doesn't make him an NUFC great. So if he goes, he goes, better players have left in the past and been replaced.

Wow, can definitely see that happening. Spurs have really only been after one good striker and can't compete with the CL-chasing players, so need to look at the next tier. I'd put money on this deal happening. Surprising Spurs aren't after Darren Bent, he did such a great job for them before.....

What's the betting we end the week with no-one quite "over the line", but another £35m in the bank from the sales of Cisse and Cabaye?!

Just imagine if Shola is flogged with club insisting Cisse stays. He then strikes to force move and gets it last minute before window shuts.

Meanwhile we start the season with Gouffran and Adam Campbell as our strike force after baulking at Darren Bent fee...

What's the Kuqi monster up to these days? Hang on, isn't Marlon Harewood a free agent?

    Beggers belief.

The tragic thing is it does not take that much imagination to see that happening...
The club has to get a grip of this situation as this is becoming farcical.

Sorry, has anyone seen anything at all to substantiate any of this ?

It is still Ramadan. I just watched a muslim lad at the gym almost pass out because he can't drink water during the day. Would you take someone like that to Portugal for a kickabout ?

Lee Ryder is one notch above the Mail in the reliability stakes, but only one - - still several rungs down from estate agents

I think you're being kind. He may have travelled, he may not have. There could be all sorts of reasons if he hasn't. Pure speculation based on Ryder's lonely brain cell. I'm not even bothered if there is a dispute over this, I'm sure something can be sorted out.

Here on the BBC website it states Cisse has pulled out of the Portugal trip because of Wonga.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23347131

I say get rid quick as it's only an excuse for a big transfer fee. Northern Rock, Virgin, Barclays, etc. all money making ventures and it didn't bother him last year.

Ryder, Edwards (from The Times) and the BBC.
As for the Ramadan debate nobody can believe every Muslim footballer is chillin'.
Even if it was just to increase team spirit Cisse should have gone.
