Wenger only has the balls to bid £35m because he first got a legally-binding statement from LFC that they will not even consider anything less than £40m.
doubt the gunners will give top price.... in the end its like this if city or Chelsea do come in, which i sincerely doubt, then i'd sell to them for 40 mil even as they are not going for 4th. they will swan off for top slot and we will fight with arsenal. i would not ever sancton a sale to arsenal... period. I'd rather do a carroll with him and send up with 10mil from real than that. The gunners are playing silly buggers with this and are not really bidding so as long as they keep that up and don't strengthen i'm very pleased.
Tancredi Palmeri @tancredipalmeri Liverpool should receive an offer from Real Madrid in the next days, for a swap Higuain+small cash for Suarez As with everything, take it how you want but would you?
Suarez is "as a sounding gong". He can't force any club to bid and he can't force LFC to sell. All he can do is make noise!
Yeah I would, Higuain is a top player and what a **** YOU that'd be to the gooners It is just a scenario that I can not see happening though unfortunately, pure made up story imo
As much as I would like Higuain, I just can't see it happening. Use the £40-50m and buy two young, hungry top class talents. Just like we did with Torres and Suarez himself.
He isn't. Higuain wouldn't suit us at all. Also MITO I don't see how you can claim that Lewandowski or Aguero are better strikers than Suarez. Even Ibrahimovic, for all his goals, lacks that ultimate winning desire in every match, against the Norwiches and the Uniteds of the world. Only a select few players in the world have that passion for every moment they spend on the pitch. That can lead to problems yes, but can you say that we would be better off without him last season? Maybe in the media, but not on the pitch. Ultimately for us that is what it should come down to. If we sell him we lose a monumental player (and Sturridge/Borini aren't ready just yet to take over completely). We lose an icon. For what? 35m? Not worth it. We don't need to sell. Your points would be very valid if we had to sell but we really don't need to. He's got so long on his contract that maybe when we are ready to move on his worth will be back up to 50. No need to act now.
I agree totally. John Henry is laughing at all of this talk. At the end of the day the only thing that will prompt henry into action is money and plenty of it! He and LFC sit firmly in the driving seat. There is no imperative to sell. Suarez is no Tevez. If we keep him then he will play his socks off for us. So if any body wants him then they will have to pay top $. If not then watch him play his heart out on our behalf next season.
Exactly. (And MITO you have some compelling points, im enjoying this discussion). We have no impetus to sell, so we have no need to accept any low ball offers. For me, he's a team-changer. He is worth something near Ronaldo (maybe 75%). He is worth something you can reinvest in your club and not just a transfer windows worth of agents fees. Other than that, keep him. I would take an unhappy Suarez over no Suarez any day. He's a motivated player. Maybe he could get us CL.
