http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23248815 TBH, I think this is a good thing if true. If he wants to leave (which I suspect he does ) then it is better to have two or three clubs rather than one, means we can get them bidding against each other.
Which is why you don't sell to the clubs you're trying to overtake. What ambition does that show? (I know you're not suggesting we do lol) Arsenal declared they're no longer PL contenders when they gave RVP to united. Sell Suarez to any team above us and we tell the world we have given up for good. Try getting players good enough for CL after that. Selling Torres was different: he was a shadow of the player, we didn't strengthen Chelsea. If he keeps mouthing all the way to september? Let him rot, he's missing a whack of games anyway and if we'd kept him you can guarantee the nutter would miss a good few more so I get the feeling the worse thing you could do to him is have him rot. He'd hate it. So one last threat. Put in a transfer request before you come back or stay quiet & play...don't and you'll play no football. By all means if Real (or any European team want to come & rescue him with a reasonable offer great. But where are they? Nowhere. Oh, they wait and see; hope he'll eventually throw tantrums and hope we'll sell at any price but as I say bench him for a year and they'll be back next year, he'll wise up or we can accept the 30 mill next year while keeping him out of rivals hands and having him all fat and unfit. What would we have lost other than a years wages? **** we've done that for a laugh with a half dozen players over the last 4 years.
Completely agree. Although I am not sure it is in the clubs best interest to bench a player such as Suarez for a year because his value will only decrease and the top clubs only buy the in-form players. I think we should ask for £50+ whether he hands in a transfer request or not.
Does louis not handing in a transfer request mean he gets a bigger payout if we sell him? It strikes me he has done everything in his power to get a move except request a transfer.
By handing in a transfer request it sacrifices any pending loyalty bonuses he may have been due to receive over the remainder of his contract. Quite unbelievably, if we sell him without the request then he can argue he didn't want to leave.
Let's see if we can count the reasons Suarez wants to leave: -Hates English media -Wants to play CL footy -Money??? -Found out through MFG that BR is indeed the devil since he didn't wear a Suarez T-shirt? am I missing anything?
We look a bit of a mess at the moment, suarez leaving will be disastrous. We need consistency in our team to take advantage of our kind start, if we let him leave it should be in the January window .everyone Would be happy. Id accept 40m in jan if it ment we keep him till then. I'm very concerned with centre mid. I hope we see a DM come in who is imposing & hungry.
To be fair, the club have acted well - we won't sell unless a) we receive a suitable bid and b) bid is received in good time in order to find a suitable replacement. As long as LFC carry this through, then I'll be happy.
