Anyone know the current situation with Gedo & Fahti ? I've been away from the forum for a couple of months so probably have missed some news about them. I was chatting to an Egyptian lad in our Sunday League last weekend and he rates them both, particularly Fahti.

I expect Fryatt to go to Forest or Derby.

Cairney would be a good signing for a team like Barnsley who I expect to really kick on this year.

Jakupovic hopefully will go to anyone who will take him or maybe as a make weight or trade for our no. 2.

Evans and maybe Dudgeon might and probably should go on loan (maybe only till Christmas and re assess) to get game time depending who comes in this window. They both have great potential so I'd hate to see them leave permanently.

I don't think Hobbs should leave but if he is the CB to make way then hopefully only a half season loan. Then if Faye, Bruce or McShane really aren't coping with the PL we can keep him in the squad for the remaining part as added strength.

Surely we can hope Peterborough would be interested in Mclean?

I think Proschwitz will be given another shot

Huddersfield are making some cracking signings, I think they'll be top six this year. Barnsley will do better this year too. Really rate Flitcroft.

I think the price we paid for Herr Proschwitz will detract from SB selling him; he's never going to get that back for him unless he has a good PL season, so we might as well keep him as a target man option. He said all along he'll take a couple of seasons to settle in and he seemed to get better every time he featured. Against Cardiff he really shone, expect to see him feature a little bit more next year, even if it's more sub appearances for Hooper and Austin.

Assuming you mean the £2.6m, we didnt.

the fact that we're considering keeping him and shipping out Hobbs is ridiculous.

But it's not is it? Other teams want Hobbs, no other team in the Championship would take Bruce. It really is that simple. I think you're being harsh on Snr, he knows Jack is a better defender than his lad and I'm sure would rather keep Jack.

That's obviously true and I'm not really having a go at Bruce, he's taken us up so if he wants to give his lad a Premier League wage for a year, he can.

The £2.6m headline figure was obviously based on all sorts of add-on's and we know the original fee was nearer to £1m, but now we've been promoted will have triggered at least one of those add-on's and we have edged closer to that fee.

The way I understand it (and I think I was first on here to question this figure) was that it was an outright mis-truth to benefit both us and Paderborn and there were no add-ons etc. I'm not saying that's gospel by the way, but that's what I was told from the same source who told me we paid knack-all for Quinn upfront when all the media were reporting 300k. You may recall the media then woke-up to this some time after I posted it on here.

I do recall that.

Lots of gossip and speculation on here re new signings, but is there any news on players possibly leaving?

Steve Bruce has said that he will only allow Aaron Mclean - Cammy Stewart and Tom Cairney to leave IF the right offers are made. I suspect that Jakupovic will also be allowed to leave if anyone wants him.

Remember we need to carry a big enough squad as once the summer window shuts thats it until January regardless.

Lee Clark said he expects two PL defenders in on loan next week.... Hobbs?
Adding to which Davies' interview in the mail he starts talking about Captain material...

This obsession that some people have with binning Hobbs is pathetic. Hobbs is more than good enough for the PL.
We need options in defence and now have them. That area of the squad is complete and well covered.

fryatt has to go!!

Why ???

But ANY offer for any of them is the right one. I'd shift all of them for free I'm afraid.

We could try and tempt Peterboro with all 3 for Dwight Gayle ? They are all way too good for league one.

I can definitely see Matty Fryatt at a Midlands NPC Club after his missus upped sticks from Brandesburton, can also see Dudge going out on loan to a NPC Club after a year out injured, whilst I expect NP to remain in hope that he comes good (SB keeps saying he's the best finisher at the Club)

I think Cairney could make it back in the prem (blind optimism?).

McLean or Fryatt plus cash for Hooper or Austin? Gets us a discount, takes money off the wage bill, placates Burnley/Celtic fans a little?

Surely Burnley would see £3m + McLean & Fryatt as a decent deal for Championship football? We could throw in Stewart for the Celtic deal.....
