Victor Wanyama thought not to be keen on a switch to Southampton. Celtic happy with bid and agent entered talks but Vic wants a bigger club.

In fairness though, I could have probably speculated exactly same....

Alan Nixon still confident on it. Doesn't understand why Wanyama would come back from holiday if it is as simple as "not big enough".

This is a typical Saints transfer, however I reckon we might have set our transfer targets slightly too high this summer.

Yep I'm guessing most the journo's that are saying he turned us down etc are the Scottish version of Goring Cook.

All the crap flying around is all just white noise from agents and press speculation based on absolutely nothing. There's no reason to think this is dead as there's no quotes actually attributable to the club or player that suggest it is.

Nor do I. By setting our targets high, yes, we might target some players who end up signing elsewhere. That's why we're doing business so early, I suspect...we have the chance to make a run at these sorts of high-impact players, while still having time to adjust our sights if they turn us down.

I think some papers/sources may be going with the contrary so that if the story pans out that way, they can claim to have given an 'exclusive'.

If it does go through, the two parties reconciled and reached agreement.

Of course...even with their sensational headline, the Record still suggested in the final graf that it could be ironed out. All the clicks, none of the accountability.

It would make some kind of sense to stay at Celtic and hope a bigger club comes in for you, but going to Cardiff would indicate it was only about the money.

I would be absolutely staggered if he ended up at Cardiff, with the greatest of respect to them and what they've achieved. I just can't see that happening.

I'm not dissing Cardiff...they have finally achieved the promotion after looking close for a while. However, unless you have family or live close to it, there is no reason to consider them over us other than money. I have to add that I think they have the best chance of staying up of all the promoted sides.
