People would say similar things about us in reality.

Oh yes, and they do. However we have a widely respected young, progressive manager, and are more 'established' (even after one season) in the division. On top of that our ambition is fairly well publicised. I'm not disrespecting Cardiff at all, and I like Malky, but it's surely a greater risk to go in to a promoted team in their first foray into the division.

Haven't seen PTF for a while. He is either:

A. On Holiday without Internet access

B. been shot, or

C. Got a life

Got it with your first guess, I've been on holiday in South East Asia, and got back yesterday. Have had enough internet access to keep up with most of the news but not really join in the conversations so I decided to take a posting holiday too.

This post will hopefully provide adequate evidence that I've managed to avoid scenarios B or C ;)

As for Wanyama, from what everyone who knows anything is saying, it looks like it will go ahead, and I'll be delighted presuming it does happen.

This "it's off" story is something we've seen many times before, memorably with the Rodriguez and Ramirez transfers. I'm not paying too much attention to it.

On the Ramirez deal, pass the football was king of "chill out guys, this is why the story is rubbish" explanations. Hoping for the same if needed this year..!

PTF - the voice of reason. Who'da thunk it?

I agree, for what it's worth. As far as I'm concerned we are still at the 'bid accepted - negotiations ongoing' stage.

The fact Victor has supposedly returned from holiday is promising.

I'm not sure what "initial offer rejected" is supposed to be, as I'd think that an initial offer is supposed to be lowballed and therefore rejected and negotiated? Not much of a negotiation if you go "here's our offer" "yup looks good".

I don't understand all the stressing out. If Wanyama signs, we welcome him and hope he lives up to expectations. If he doesn't, he was probably crap/a twat* anyway.

*delete as appropriate.

Sorry but if he doesn't sign for us it'll be because he can do better, which he can.

So can we.

I really don't think we can. It's debatable as to whether even Banega is better, and I really have my doubts we can get him. I honestly can't think of a single central midfielder better than Wanyama who I also think would sign for us.

According to Crook Wanyama has rejected us, any one heard this? ......:p

So is the consensus that he's stalling/sitting on it to see if any better offers come in? If so it seems fair.
