Yet if you read WSC, the most hated teams in the Championship are usually Cardiff and Leeds (although for the season just gone it'll probably be Watford that top the disdain list)
Playing LM, he drew a pen and numerous fouls against Italy, and made a saving tackle. Seriously, tell him not to lose his cookies at the Christmas party this time...
There was some numpty Gooner caller on Talk5hite, today, who reckons that Whinger is the greatest ever manager. This was on the Durham & Gough show, and during the call Durham played "the Laughing Policeman" music, and then proceeded to rip the complete and utter piss out of the Gooner. Normally. I would have been indignant at the manner in which the fan was treated, but on this occasion I think the treatment was thoroughly deserved. A manager of a club that has one of the highest wages bills in world football, that has sold off the club's greatest assets, that charges its fans the highest prices in Europe, and that hasn't won a trophy for 8 years, cannot, by any stretch of the imagination, be considered a great manager let alone the greatest. I actually felt embarrassed listening to that numpty. I wonder if he posts on the Gooner's board. It certainly would not surprise me.
I don't listen to TalkSport, however my timeline on twitter went mental when he was on. He must have been a right pleb.
"Arsenal are putting the finishing touches on a £50m bid for Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain, 25, and the club's billionaire shareholder Alisher Usmanov has also urged manager Arsene Wenger to make a move for 27-year-old Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney." Ermm.... £50m?!?! Say whaatttt?!
Probably including the wages he'll earn whilst he's there. Papers seem to do that these days so they can sensationalise further.
I'm sure YV is right, it includes £130k week (£27m over a 4 year contract). The important question though - how good is Higuain? I don't follow Spanish football, although I understand he doesn't play that much for Madrid, but is he good enough to turn them into a title contending team? Hope they get Rooney though, there'll be carnage amongst the squad over who does and doesn't play. Not sure his head's in the right place to make a real difference for them.
Turn them into title contenders?! No one's that good To be honest, I've never seen him play that well but then again he may do well at Arsenal, he seems like he'd suit the Premier League. Basically, I'm not sure either.
122 goals & 266 games for Real Madrid and 20 goals in 32 games for Argentina is pretty impressive. I think he will turn out to be a very good signing for Arsenal unfortunately.
That could be us done for in the race for 4th if he settles and stays fit. Another example of Arsenal strengthening the areas they need while we, seemingly, piss around looking at more midfielders
So what didn't Mourinho like about him? I guess couldn't fit Benzema, Ronaldo and Higuain into the same team on a regualr basis? Only played 28 games in the league (presumably including substitutions on and off) last year.
Lol, yeah. He's had back trouble in the past. Even had back surgery i believe. I remember reading he was very lucky with it and it could have been career ending if he was unlucky.
