Agree. If Arsenal get Fellaini I think that's top 4 done already. It'll be the first year where they haven't lost key players and might actually be able to contend for the title providing all key players stay fit.

I didn't even know they were after Fellaini, but again with Wilshere's injury record its another deal that would actually make sense.
I can't see them winning the title though.

I think their long term aspirations are to get a player in that will free up Cazorla and Wilshere. Fellaini would add a bit of bite to their midfield and make them less vulnerable to the counter attack, which has pretty much been their Achilles heel for the last 5 years.

Presumably he'd fit in alongside Arteta too.
Saying that, so should have Dempsey alongside Dembele :D

Don't know if Arteta can manage 60 games or so at his age. You mentioned Wilshere's injury problems as well. I suspect Wenger would rotate a fair bit.

We also have Ramsey for that DM/CM spot, who I thought really came into his own in the final part of season and was our best player alongside Koscielny.

No disrespect to Ramsey but Fellaini is another level to him. One of the best mids in the prem, rather than someone i would consider "backup" (behind Wilshere, Cazorla and possibly Arteta already)

Ramsey was better than Wilshere pre-injury. Not the player he was. I think he'll end up at Cardiff next season or the one after.

There's been very little linking us with Fellaini besides the usual caught offside and goal.com

I'm pretty sure we won't be buying him

The only negative I see with Higuain is his injury history--except, maybe, why they didn't sign him last year. I didn't understand why they went for two not so great strikers instead of one top one. I know I wouldn't want Rooney (though I would have loved to have Higuain), but I'm not sure if I dislike him so much I'd be glad to see him go to Arsenal. If we're lucky, he'll cause more trouble than he's worth. But when were we ever lucky? I don't think he'll end up there, though. Like us and Nani, it's a case of that type of player doesn't end up at that kind of club.

The rich keep getting richer in the PL, and keep putting more distance between themselves and everyone else. It looks like we'll have to do considerably better than our record points total this year to have a shot for fourth next year--unless someone implodes. You never know, though. When Spurs were reasonably healthy last year and not on a Europa hangover, we didn't drop many points.

I'd be surprised if anyone could be shown up as being thick by speaking with Durham.

There's few thicker than Dazza Gough (he was nicknamed "rhino" when he played), but Durham makes him look like an intellectual. And he's a closet Spurs fan from Barnsley.

I bet he only ever came to that London to play test matches at Lords and t'Oval.

But yet most PL clubs vote in favour of FFP, which only exacerbates the problem.

Just aswell Pulis has gone, I think Shea took his demands about cutting opponents down a bit too literally!

Has he got a Daily Mail article?

    Also, didn't Stoke release him?

Clearly diplomatic material. We should pay this guy to promote our image abroad. (As if we aren't doing a good enough job without him.)

I object less to the ordnance than to those polka dot shorts.

The tendency of more and more people to watch less and less of things makes the problem of stratification a poser. Before media, everyone went to see their local team play all its home games. Now people may only watch the key games of the best teams in a dozen different leagues and sports. So everyone but the best teams are SOL.

The one way out is revenue sharing, which will happen in football when pigs fly.
