Heard the weekend(not from the guy that usually tells me stuff), don't know if true.
There's definitely been contact between the two. Was told it broke off over a disagreement. Not to say it hasn't/couldn't have progressed though.

Well it would seem I am going to have to wait a fortnight now for any transfer updates as the very lovely Mrs Godderswill be driving us to our hotel at Gatwick in about half an hour ready for our early morning flight to Heraklion. I have my copies of Zorba the Greek and the Cretan Runner to read while I'm away and if the weather holds and there are plenty of pretty girls to distract me I may forget all about football for a while.
I leave you all in charge of this site and I am hoping to come back less grumpy and far more cheerful than I have been of late. I am disappointed to see that ΟΦΗ have no fixtures while we are in Crete so it is going to be sitting in the shade and reading although I am sure I may find some unsuspecting fan of another club to annoy. I will not be able to go swimming as the very lovely Mrs Goddershas thrown my knitted swimming trunks in the dustbin. I am bloody annoyed as I have had them since 1953 and there was still some wear left in them. Her argument was that they were so baggy that they had become obscene and that if I want to swim I shall have to buy a new costume. I have been looking at a pair of Speedos but she wouldn't let me buy them. For some reason we never seem to have a problem finding a vacant sun lounger by the pool as early in the morning when we go down to settle by the pool my flatulence is at its worse. I did the fifty question test in the Times today to see if I was old and as I answered yes to all of the questions I now have to consider myself to be an old git.
To get myself in the holiday mood I have been watching old episodes of Benidorm. Well that is it and now it is Crete here we come.
Don't let us sign any crap players while I'm away and make sure that Shaw doesn't go anywhere. I still haven't forgotten going on holiday only to discover that Shearer was sold while I was away.
Or Banega and Wanyama
Unless Cork or Davis are off (which I wouldn't want) I think that would be too many for the moment. Schneiderlin and Banega or Wanyama, with Cork, Davis and JWP as other options would be perfect for the moment.

Lallana. Banega. Ramirez

That looks like a tasty lineup, but gaston on the left?
Obviously very excited but feel bad for cork if he gets pushed out. He has been a standout player this year.
Was a very quick reply so Ramirez would be the right yeah. That looks like a tasty lineup, but gaston on the left?

So you'd rather Davis and Wanyama than Banega and Wanyama?

We don't need to look at each new signing as a replacement for an existing favourite but an addition too the squad.
If we want to push for a top ten place AND A COUPLE OF CUP RUNS then we will need a deep squad in order to compete and not embarrass ourselves with a second string team being thumped by the likes of Leeds
