Guess that gives Gerrard the chance of a clean slate and an extended stay at Cardiff. Also probably kills any deal for Olofinjana?
Don't think it really changes a great deal for us. Always looking unlikely we'd sign gerrard permanently. Oli has done enough to get the attention of a number of championship sides and maybe some lower prem sides, too. I wonder about cardiffs finances for next season, be interesting to see where they go from here.
2 play off finishes in last 2 years...shows the cutthroat nature of the game i suppose...cant see him been out of work long..
He's still second with the Bookies for the West Ham job(though it's looking like Sam's going to get it).
Theres no justice. Finish in playoffs , get sacked. Finish nowhere , keep job. Pearson - vacancy at Cardiff.
Stupid decision. How will they fare next year without Bellamy and that **** Bothroyd, as well as (quite possibly) Chopra?
Cardiff have by an absolute mile the best squad in this division. In fact they're the only 'top' team who people actually expected to be at the top. I don't think anybody saw QPR, Norwich and Swansea coming. I suppose it's harsh but based on the investment they've thrown at it, particularly this year, they really should be in the top two.
Dave Jones had a good few years here at Cardiff but it was the right time for him to leave. With the squad at his disposal this season we should have been promoted automatically but alas we've fallen away at the end yet again. As to where we'll finish next season, it's useless to even ponder at this point! It all depends on who we get in as manager and what sort of funds are made available to rebuild our ridiculously thin squad! From some of the comments here, are you guys not really happy with NP at the moment then?? I thought he did a fairly good job for you guys and expect you to be challenging for a play-off spot next season!
The vast majority of City fans are very pleased with the job Pearson has done this season, particularly as they were done under difficult financial circumstances. There are a few detractors and a fair few more who just want to see us play more attacking football, for the fans that only go to home games, there's not been much to cheer about this season. So who do you think will get the managers job? (I don't believe for a minute that it will be Bellamy)
^^^ this ^^^ Some muppets on this board do not know how lucky they are after recent mess ups, i.e., Brown and Duffen!!
Yeah, fancy only getting us our top three highest ever finishes and a 104 year monkey off our backs. Bastards.
I think he was alluding to post January 2009 when the **** began to hit the fan. No suprise that Jones has left Cardiff after 2 failed play off campaigns, maybe someone like Chris Hughton might take it? A chance for him to take a team back into the PL. As for Pearson, most people are happy with the job he's doing having spent half of his reign in difficult financial circumstances and is in the process of building his own team which could give us a play off places in the next couple of seasons. His tactics may not be the most entertaining but football is about results, not playing like Barcelona all the time. We've done well to have a manager like Pearson after the likelyhood of having someone like Dowie in charge last summer, i wonder what people like tigersteve and twf expect sometimes
Dave Jones was given a lot of money to get out of this division for a couple of years, jesus christ Craig Bellamy and he still did'nt do it. It's not like he has been working on a shoestring budget, I'm not suprised he got fired
I prefer to view the positives, too many people seem desperate to follow the lazy media line. WHATEVER ELSE, THEY BROUGHT IN MORE MONEY AND GOT US TO THE HIGHEST POSITIONS IN OUR HISTORY.
