What utility is that? It's a 1.7% difference (I eagerly await recurring decimal nit picking)

I don't think anyone has retained the point i made int he first place. The money was ill spent for our first season in the premier league. We spent all but the couple of hundredk on Davis on prospects and punts.

I think it would have been wiser at the time to have spent a quarter to a third of our punt budget on one or two experienced heads.

Sotonist, I don't often get involved with this nonsense but I have to say your posts are complete nonsense. We all have differing opinions about various things which is what make forums fun but IMO you know literally nothing about football. I would point out all the reasons why but I don't know where to start.

yeah, just needs a high tempo techno beat behind it and I think you have a banging tune

I cant be arsed to trawl through all 19 pages of this debate. Can someone please inform me of how Sotonist has been rude and obnoxious in expressing his view. From what I have seen he has expressed a differing opinion to others, backed this up with examples and yet is still being hounded out.

If you can't be arsed to read through why should they be arsed to inform you?.....:)

Because it's easier to say what's been said then try and find it. Having said that I accept your point i am being one lazy ****er and if somebody else asked i wouldn't inform them. :emoticon-0116-evilg

I love the club's transfer policy of buying young players with potential and think it suits us perfectly. However as sotonist says starting the season with davis and fox was stupid. If we had have not signed boruc and shaw hadn't have come through we would have almost certainly been relegated, of course we may have already been in the process of signing boruc and knew that shaw was better than fox.

Still it was huge risk which I gather is what sotonist is trying to say. A few experienced heads wouldn't have just helped us stay up I'm sure 1-2 would have been still been handy this season.

On dejan I don't rate this signing highly but we'll see. The best thing is that we clearly will be spending big bucks this window once again. Another bonus is dejan will have the whole of preseason to gel, especially important for defenders.

Interview with Lovren in 'Sportske novosti', a croatian paper

.....though, tells us Lovren, who in the meantime spoke, Southampton is a very ambitious story ...

- They were really persistent and very specific in order to bring me. There were other clubs interested, but people from Southampton really made me immediately won the confidence that I expressed. Especially my talks with coach Pochettino meant a lot because I felt that I very much appreciate and want in your team. Together with the leaders of the club presented my project Southampton and I was thrilled.

They were 14th Last season, as a novice in the league, what are they planning?

- Southampton is tidy and wealthy club that wants to make a breakthrough. We have a young team that will be further enhanced, and when we talked then gave me a hint of what was coming. Leadership team and coach are ambitious, want to Southampton progresses next season elections upper part of the table, then again a step forward ... That impressed me a plan and I'm happy to be a part of that story. The team is young, the average is between 23-24 years, so it will be easier to fit into a new environment.

A new beginning is always a new motivation, even more intense if you leave the gray zones career. Not surprising because Lovren eager to begin their new era.

- Preparations begin first July, but I will come sooner. I want to get to know the city, the camp, the people who work at the club, feel the atmosphere of Southampton and then violently embark on preparations.

He's going to violently embark on preparations.... blimey, he's going to kick the **** out of someone. I hope it's Kevin nolan
