Aah. I see we have two more imbeciles of Celtic allegiance on the Board. Gee, I'm quite happy that you're becoming obsessed with us! <ok>

<laugh>

So are you suggesting the CL has been in existence for 50 years?

That's as bad as the 5 billion weekly viewing figures quote.

No, but one of your earlier posters showed the picture of the last European Trophy Celtic won back in the 60's to try and support his moronic claim that Celtic always do well in Europe. My post was referring to European competitions as a whole.

That's as bad as APOEL of Cyprus. <laugh>

Which you seem to have failed miserably in for almost 40/50 years now <ok>

I'd rather compete in it, than never experience my team even getting close.

Also, we won it 46 years ago <ok>

Then again, what's that compared to RUNNERS-UP IN THE WATNEY CUP 1973 <laugh>

You're missing the point. We haven't won anything because we're in a difficult, competitive English League with many sides capable of winning honours (look at Bradford City this Season). Celtic only compete in European Competitions because they piss the worst League in the UK every Season. Hardly something to be proud of is it?

At least we can say we've worked our way up one of the most difficult League's in the World from the basement League to the top. All Celtic can say is, "We qualify for Europe by beating Sunday League opposition week in-week out.

I don't know why you boys are falling out over this.

Hooper won't be going to Hull.

We'll wait until you have made another offer and then get him down to our place. Hughton rates him and I would think that he will now be our no.1 target to play with our new Dutch lad.

Just to clarify:

Celtic - much bigger club than Hull or Norwich or indeed Hull and Norwich combined could ever hope to be.
Hull and Norwich currently have more financial clout due to the Sky monies playing in the most lucrative league in the world whereas Celtic play in a second rate competition devalued by the (completely deserved) loss of Rangers and imminent demise of Hearts.

Hooper can either play in front of 60k every other week, win lots of medals and play in Europe for Celtic or take a punt on Hull, Norwich or another PL club with a view to doing well and getting a move to one of the bigger clubs to have a massive pay day plus the chance of winning something again and playing for England. I guess it depends on how highly he rates his chances down south and how ambitious he is.

To be perfectly honest, I'd rather us not pay a substantial fee for a player unproven at the Premier League level. It's all fine banging goals in against the likes of Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Falkirk but against Manchester United and Chelsea it may be a different story. I'd be quite happy with Odemwingie/Elmander who are much cheaper and have proven they can score in the EPL.
