Youre talking as if Inter and Milan havent won anything in decades. Inter won the treble of domestic league, Champions League and World Club Championship - the only team in history to do that in the same season - three years ago. They were ****ing awful this season mind.

Milan's team all grew old at the same time and hence needed replacing pretty much 1 to XI. They did that last summer, lost 5 of their first 8 games and then went on a run in the 2nd half of the season that outstripped Juve. They now have a young, hungry, exceptionally gifted team and have lowered their wage bill astonomically.

Roma are now bankrolled by US magnates but were managed by the mental Zeman who simply doesnt believe in defending. Anyone who clings steadfastly to the notion of boring defensive Italian football shouldve watched them last season - there were 64 goals in their first 16 league games last year. More than any other club side in Europe. of course the British media overlooked this.... Bit of an unknown entity next season after appointing the Lille manager but they certainly have the cash.

Your assessment of Juve is pretty much spot on and they've already signed Spanish national striker Lorente for next season with Tevez or Higuain expected to follow. Building their own stadium and toaking ownership away from the local council (cough) has paid huge rewards and as a result Inter, Roma, Fiorentina, Sampdoria and Napoli all have firm plans to do this within 5 years.

To be fair, I'd say the German, Spanish and Italian leagues are stronger than the PL from top to bottom. The PL and Bundesliga are far more entertaining than the other 2 though.

Thanks for clearing that up Bums Chins, I don't know much about Serie A. Thought there was more to Roma than just a bad season, I watched them a few times last season as they lost my accumulators for me, and aside from poor defending they also suffered very poor discipline and professional commitment from what I saw. I know Inter had that fecking great season but then Italian football just seemed to implode.

One point though, how can Inter buy the stadium? Don't they share with their bigger brother AC?

No way, specially not the German league. With la liga vs epl, take Barca / real and Man U / man city out of the respective leagues and the premier league is far stronger. But Barca and Madrid are both better than any team in the premier league.

Not buying it, building a new one. They've identified the site and Moratti is now looking to sell 49% of the club to some super rich Johnny Foreigner to fund the building of it. Milan have no plans to leave Stadio Giuseppe Meazza which I'm glad about. As dated as it is and unfit for modern purpose you can just feel the history inside and would be a shame to see it go. Bit like old Wembley really, we loved it but knew it was past it's sell by date.

Just another point on Milan - they reduced their wage bill by £50 million in just one season last season and ended up with a better team worth more in sale-on value. That's some going. They did this by getting rid of the likes of Nesta, Inzaghi, Gattuso, Seedorf et al and then Ambrosini at the end of this season.

Gattuso left years ago didn't he? I'm sure he got sacked as manager of some club after not-many days in charge (I'm not sure I can be any more vague)

Nup, last summer. You're right though, he moved to Sion (think it was) in Switzerland as a player. Their manager got sacked, he took over as player coach, he got sacked and he's now been appointed as Palermo boss for next season.

And he played in the SPL and is married to a Scots bird, we've come full circle!

To be fair, if you bringing in Bendtner in on loan, you must be short of attacking options.

(I don't watch Serie A, so I wouldn't know what their strikers are like)

I wanted Joe to just kick his head in.
