Just got a call asking if I could come for an interview tomorrow in St Albans at 1. I hate it when I get these on such short notice. I was planning on sleeping until 1.

Well, kinda; looks like three months of the suspension are, well, suspended...they won't kick in unless he does something else to breach the rules. So in reality he's suspended for the critical May 23rd - June 23rd period only.

That'll teach him. He's not going to bet on any more games in a hurry...

Hi, as a newbie I just wanted to introduce myself and this looks like the thread to do it. As you can tell from my nickname, i'm a Southampton fan from Croatia. It grieves me to say that there aren't many of us in Croatia (why, I wonder ) so i don't often get to share my views on Saints an Saint related stuff. That's why i joined this forum i'm eager to give my contribution to ongoing discussions.

You can find some additional info in my signature. ;D

Ahh, so you are originally from Croatia then? What's the story with regards to supporting Saints?

Welcome to the forum though.

Yes, i'm from Croatia and I'm living in Croatia, in city of Split on Adriatic coast, to be exact.

Why am I supporting Saints? Well, and i think it won't come as a suprise to many, it's mostly because of one man, Matt le Tissier. When I was kid we had this tv show with highlights of many european leagues including premiership, and i was just amazed with the skill and quality of Le Tisser. So every week i would wait to see the highlights of Saints match in particular, and gradually I became very fond of Southampton football club, grasping to every bit of information I could possibly get. Unfortunatly, there were no televised games in the recent dark ages, but now again I can watch and am watching every Saint game. Beeing still young (24 years of age), I haven't had the opportunity to go to an actual match on St Mary's, but it's very high on my list of priorities.

Hopefully we will be able to welcome you to St Marys soon mate! Welcome to the forum :)

Is the rep system acting up, or am I so rep-poor that my meager offerings don't even register?

Welcome to the forum SFCroatia (your full nickname is a bit of a mouthful ;) ). What's Split like? I've heard it's breathtakingly beautiful.

Yeah, it's an explanatory nickname, kind of, therefore the lenght  But SFCroatia is just fine.

Split really is very beautiful. You probably heard of Diocletian palace, a vast ancient roman palace built by the emperor Diocletian in 4th century. It's on UNESCO's register of World Cultural Heritage and one of rare (if not the only one) historical moneument who has people still living in it from it's very foundation. So it's a definite must see.

I love your country. Looking forward to EU membership in 4 weeks?

Indeed, I would love to visit, my grandfather spent a couple of weeks in Croatia during his many travels and he raved about Split, he promised he'd take me before he died but alas that was not to be! Some day I'll make it over, I'd love to catch a game between Hajduk and Dinamo too.

I guess i have, let's say, ambivalent feelings about it. There is a great deal of positives for sure, but a number od people are worried about certain things regarding the possible decline (or knockdown) of our remaining industries due to increasing competition, some fear the partial loss of sovereignty, there is a concern of imigration issues, all kinds of stuff, really.

But now is too late for second thoughts, we will have to make the most of it. Personaly, i'm more looking foward to it then not.
