You seem to have accidentally overlooked the two occasions he criticised his club and manager in social media for which he was fined. Not a likely to be a unifying force in a dressing room relying on team spirit as a mainstay of a fight for Premiership survival.

I wouldn't have said 31 is over the hill, he's got a few years left in him and he looks faster than a few of the younger crowd.

I would take him in a second, if he kept us up next season, that would be worth it to me

This all rather depends on budget.

All part of the same incident.

You'd turn Rooney down then would you?

sometimes a change of scenery may do a player like him good. SB won't take any ****e and would need to lay down some serious rules and regs like ditching his twitter account. he's a pure goalscorer, we are desperate for firepower and managed well, he brings plenty.

Personally I love to get him here. I think he's what we've been missing for years.

However, I think the chances are he will wash up in London, which was, I think, the attraction of QPR rather than the money. (I understand his wife and kid are settled there).

For every Jordan Rhodes who makes the step up, there's an Aaron Mclean who doesn't.

Personally, I'd go for one of each.

We do not play like Southampton or Swansea, they both press and seek to dominate games. Lukaku shouldn't even be playing for WBA, he's clearly already ready to play up front for Chelsea. West Ham are awful away from home and play Nolan who is a completely different player to Aluko off Carroll. Norwich don't score many goals.

What works for other teams wont necessary work for ours, especially if we're sticking with 3-5-2 when Aluko will be one of the two.

I think we've got to accept that there's going to be a lot of volatile characters who are financially driven amongst our targets this summer.
Most EPL players are spoilt brats (it goes with the territory), but the key is to have a good man-manager and who can keep the squad happy without alienating anyone.

It's just one of the reasons why we're so lucky to have Bruce at the helm. He's used to dealing with big egos because he has the gravitas that players respect unlike some of of our more recent managers. Just imagine if we were in this position with a manager like Pearson who can only work with kids or Brown with his 'naughty step'.

We play exactly like Southampton and Swansea, just without the good strikers they have.

I feel that odemwingie is some what of a scape goat for what happened that night. After the closure of the transfer window Harry Redknapp admitted a deal for odemwingie had been in place with a QPR playing moving in the other direction. This move then fell through when the QPR player in question decided against a move to WBA. By this point Peter was already en route to an unfortunate date with Sky's camera's.

Whilst we can all question the man's ethics and motives (at face value this season, who the hell would swap WBA for QPR?! Can only be for a financial benefit) but is he really any different to any of us?! More money and a better location, would any of us turn this down in our careers?!

If the story is true About our interest I doubt if there's a better player we could hope to sign for £3m ish, he'll certainly have a point to prove...

Yes, but to be fair he does have a case. WBA are dire at the moment. 11 defeats in the last 18 games says it all.
WBA wont have Lukaku either next season. Chelsea getting their man back who has scored 17 goals and finished 6th overall in the PL top scorers list.

As for Odemwingie, i dont like his attitudes at all but he is a proven PL goal scorer and for £3m-ish that is cheap. If Steve Bruce can get the best out of him and with a point to prove then P.O. could be next seasons Michu.(a real bargain).

Nobody will pay more that £10m for Rhodes and that is being very generous. Burnley wont get anything above £3m for Austin as he enters his final year and WBA just want rid of Odemwingie and £3m should be enough. No i think he is trouble but if Steve Bruce can lick him into shape and get him to perform then i am prepared to put my personal feelings to one side.

You may be right on the scottish angle. Certainly Odemwingie would have points to prove. £3/4m as has been mentioned is more than a fair price for him. Just his wages i would guess may be an issue for us.? twt as always.

Rhodes and Austin wont have a problem scoring goals in the PL. The goal in the PL is the same size and the championship by the way. I would like us to try for Swight Gayle from Peterboro and Paddy Madden from yeovil. Pm cost £15k from Carlisle ffs. Now Yeovil are a championship side. Another great bargain.

Yes and lookm where Saints 2 main strikers came from,, Bristol Rovers(Lambert) and Burnley(Rodriquez).

Talented player, but would be a big gamble, don't want us to make the same mistakes again.

Surely with every dressing room outburst, his price will drop?

I'd expect Clarke to want the man out of the club, and he would probably take less than the quoted £3 million.

Why do people ever say this? It displays a complete lack of understanding. The goal is the same size in the Conference as it is in the Championship but Vardy scored 34 in 40 last season but only 4 in 21 this season. The goals are the same size in The Evo-Stik Northern Premier League as they are in the Championship, but I doubt Ryan Kendall would've scored 36 goals in 35 games for us. The goal is the same size in League One as the Championship but we all know how many goals Mclean has scored for us since him move from Peterborough.
