Heard at work today that Leeds have made a bid for Billy Sharp....don't know if true, I thought maybe Nigel would go after him for Reading to spearhead his promotion bid.
 
What's the score with this Jed Wallace character down the road? Is he as good as they are claiming him to be? I have seen some stuff linking him to Stoke and Liverpool in the last few days.
 
Pochettino said in today's presser that he is in waiting over transfers right now.

Said we are waiting on other clubs and players to respond. Sounds promising.
 
I'm now taking Cortese's statement about having players all but waiting for season's end to sign with a huge grain of salt. I'm sure he does have a bunch of deals he is hopeful will conclude soon and maybe one he thinks is almost done just because that's what any good chairman/club should be doing.

But it's generally unlike him to announce such things as we prefer to keep things close to the vest. So by announcing the imminent closure of unspecified deals, he's putting pressure on the Leibherrs. The fear being that if he walks, we lose those deals and fans being fans we are sure to let our imaginations go wild and envision that Messi would have been ours if only...

Not that I blame Cortese. It keeps the fans excited as well, and that can only be good when trying to sell season tickets. I mean, is he really gonna say "Naw, I've just been relaxing these past few months. We'll let the transfer market unfold as it goes along and maybe we luck into someone or maybe not."

All I will say is, for someone who normally swerves the media, Cortese is playing some cracking games.

I don't actually recall Cortese announcing anything about signings I thought it was just something leaked out somewhere, may have been Mo Po.
 
I haven't kept up with this thread at all and don't fancy wading through 14 pages of nothing rumours. Has there been anything more than hopeful guesses and press bollocks?
