Jenson Button has hinted that he would like to drive for Ferrari:

"As a kid you are very excited about racing for the red team. There were three teams I always wanted to race for when I was growing up, Ferrari, McLaren and Williams. I've got to drive for two of them, which is great, which as an eight-year old kid I didn't expect to do.

Ferrari is obviously a team I haven't raced for. I've won the world championship and I would love to win the world championship again."

While I love the all British Mclaren team with Hamilton and Button, I also would be very excited if Button went to Ferrari with Alonso which I think would be a very successful partnership. Button has said he is not worried about being Alonso's team mate:

"It's not team-mates I'm afraid of, at all. I love the challenge of team-mates. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses and it's interesting to work them out. But I don't know what will happen in the future."

Could Jenson Button replace Massa? It would probably be at the end of the 2012 season. If Button did go who would replace Button at Mclaren? Rosberg? Di resta?

Well... he's also said he would like to driver for McLaren for the rest of his career.

Cant't see this happening if im perfectly honest. Did he not just sign a longer contract with McLaren or was close to it. Really think Ferrari have the hots for someone like Vettel or Kubica (if he recovers sufficiently) to fill the seat alongside Fernando

I would love to see Nico take on Lewis in the same car.

First Schumi, next Lewis, then the world! ;)

Maybe he said that because he is happy there, but also he did not think he had any other options as good as Mclaren.
Is Ferrari as good an option as McLaren for Button?

Do you know what, though? I've become so sceptical of everything I read in the press these days that unless I see the question being asked and answered on video I don't really know what to believe.

I'm not sure I believe Button was asked about driving with Alonso. His answer could equally apply to how he feels about the challenge of driving with Hamilton.

If the Guardian report is accurate, Button had better hope animal Briatore doesn't get there first.

Not sure how I'd feel about Button using McLaren as a stepping stone to Ferrari or, if there's another reason for him wanting this, what's going on in 'Hamilton's team'.

To address your other point about who might replace Button at McLaren - has to be Rosberg, doesn't it?

Button would be perfect for Ferrari

Alonso will love him as he is a mature 'gentle driver' and not a scary rookie

Button would also be able to claim that he is progressing his career, and not running from the horrible hiding he will receive at Mclaren in the next few years

Do you think Hamilton's going to improve enough to give Button a "horrible hiding" over the next few years?

Doesn't need to improve

If mclaren give Lewis a car he doesn't have to gamble with, a car close to the Red Bull, we will see 4-1 in the first 5 races, after 18?

Then he can only hope for a kova type hiding

At least at Ferrari he can claim it's his boyhood dream to be there getting whipped or maybe not by Fernando

I reckon he can do better against Fernando

Despite the fact most people consider Button a much better driver in more well balanced and generally better cars

I wouldn't mind seeing Jenson in a Ferrari, but I don't see it happening simply because he's already happy at McLaren and they are likely to sign another contract soon.

I think he'd struggle with Alonso as his teammate. Alonso has similar tactical intelligence and tyre management, but is better at aggressive driving, overtaking and qualifying. At least at McLaren, there are certain skills in which Jenson is easily the better driver. That wouldn't be the same at Ferrari.

As far as Button vs Alonso is concerned. It would at least give us a chance to see if and by how much Hamilton has improved since 2007.

It's 4-1 after 5

Say 16-4 after 20

Would you call that a horrible hiding for an ex WC?

Try find a previous Wc who was beaten by that ratio

Only vacuous WUMS declare their use of FACTS to influence a supposition

Prost. 4x WDC.

So you are predicting the entire season on the first five races, I bet you did not do that last season.

And pray tell

Who beat Prost over a Season by a ratio of 4-1 wins?

After Prost won a WC?

In qualifying Senna massacred Prost even worse than Hamilton-Button. Sometimes a gap like this can show the quality of the former rather than the latter.
