Yeah, with almost no luck whatsoever. I would have loved some. An injury-time penalty here, an own-goal there to gift us a few wins. That would have been rather nice. I'm normally not one for hollow victories but **** it. Everyone else seems to be getting it.
Chapp - you really are in denial, mate. I can hear a dead horse being flogged now. 12th mate - can't argue with it - it's happened.
Yeah it has. Done and dusted. I'm just being hypothetical and imagining a few nice scenarios where we had a bit more dumb luck. Actually, on the topic of bad luck, that reminds me of when Perch scored an own goal against Stoke which lost us our draw back in September. So yeah, us not finishing above you guys is basically James Perch's fault.
Denial is when you get outplayed both home and away by your rivals, yet claim to be the better team by finishing 1, yes, 1 point ahead thanks to West Ham already being relegated. This "better club" ****e is all to do with the massive inferiority complex the Sunderland fans have, it does you all no favours and only brings to light the fact that you really are in our shadows.
Okay then Chappaz going on your reasoning own goals shouldn't be counted therefore you lost on Sunday. Own goals, penalties and flukes are all the same a goal, I'm not bothered how they go in as long as they do no doubt you are the same? As for who is the better team the league doesn't lie yes you are only 1 point behind us but 2 places, as for your other argument about Man Utd being lucky but then saying they have an epic home record make your mind up mate they are either lucky or good.
Well that'll be his Mum's fault for having him, then. What's the future hold for him, anyway. I understand that he's a big pile of ****ty poo?
Good post apart from the last bit mate. Arsenal may have outplayed us, but how the hell did Szelny keep out Welbecks half volley? Could have been 3 points. Several 90th minute equalizers, 2 blatant fouls against Stoke for 2 goals. Swings, roundabouts, Chappaz, you take away those 7 points, i can easily credit us 10-12. Just ****ing accept it man and lets look forward to a good battle next season. Teams finish were, all things considered, they deserve to be after a season. END OF. (and 10th STILL beats 12th)
Well we didn't lose. Much in the same way that you guys officially won your fluky wins. However, we probably didn't deserve a win. With that match though, it was all ours for the taking and we just ballsed it up completely But if we removed all of the points where it was the teams giving us them (own goals and penalties), we'd be on something like 42/43, and you guys would be on 40. So yeah, pure luck in that department has counted for a lot this season - probably for both teams, but moreso Sunderland. Wtf does places have to do with it? Other teams being in-between us on GD has absolutely jack **** to do between Sunderland and Newcastle. It's one point, won from an already-relegated and woeful West Ham side. The whole situation is nothing to brag about really. You guys should have been 5-10+ points ahead in our first season back, not 1 and by the skin of your teeth. I don't like to have to keep saying it and sounding like a WUM, but more people keep popping on this thread with their opinion. He ****ing blows. He better be gone by the Summer, back into the Championship where he belongs.
The point being it is 2 places if we were 16th you would be relegated you lot finished 12th because you were worse than us (wasn't sure that was possible to be fair) over the season we are the top dogs you are not no matter how you try to spin it with lucky goals and winning against relegated teams.
If ever we needed more evidence that Mags are thick as ****e, then Chappaz and Troll are supplying it with credit!
A noble effort Chappaz, but we are above you and will remain so for around 3 months minimum. Which is nice. For us
If we ever needed evidence that some Mackem's are utter ****s and ruin the reputation of the club, you exist! Anyway, I'd love it if a mackem appeared one day and said "You know what, we were ahead, but it was only by one point when I expected more. I'm disappointed it isn't more, but fair play to Newcastle for managing to almost catch us up on their first season back". I somehow doubt that's going to happen though (edit: It has happened once so far when some mackem posted a thread on our board earlier).
I think the thing is that you didn't manage to almost catch us up, you actually overtook us and were 3-0 up in the final game, so the final result was a massive bonus for us after all that had been said by certain wumming mags. If some mackems regard it as payback time you can hardly be surprised and I'm not knocking them, even if it's not something I'd necessarily do myself.
Call it luck good/bad/,fate,Karma even the X factor it's piss poor to base any arguement on .You may not like how things panned out Chappaz but these silly attempts aint fooling anybody. We simply got more points than you lot.
