This happened in a cup final in Portugal. Benfica supporters threw a very light directly to Sporting fans and killed one with the verylight stuck in the chest.

A totally stupid and indefensible thing to do and nothing like the party smoke bombs seen at football. It does highlight the reasons why the police comments in the HDM are bollocks though.

Ok, you dont know what it was ! Correct there is a difference of the signal flare and the smoke flare and smoke bomb, And i dont see people parking there cars up at walton street and getting out and on mass coughing there guts up ! that is not to say there is no risk from car fumes ! But surely you must agree, if you are stood near a signal fare smoke bomb or smoke flare there is a risk to your health !

I wonder if someone invented a non heat risk/non respiratory risk, artificial smoke device that was made for carnivals and parties etc. Would they still be banned at football matches? I,m going to invent one and get myself on Dragons Den, with my Reggea Reggea Footballl Flare.....

Don't I know what it was? Okay then, but at least you now know the Police claim that it was a flare, and the associated bollocks they spouted because of that lie is total hogwash. <ok> Leaves the rest of their "argument" flapping in the wind.

More deaths each year are as a result of vehicle fumes than as a result of vehicle accidents. If people coughed up those car fumes, the results wouldn't be so bad, but they inhale them deep into the system because the particles are small. they are also coated with tar, which causes them to stick inside.

By contrast, smoke particles in the bombs are bigger and drier, they have to be to be seen. As a consequence, you're unlikely to be able to inhale them past the nose and throat hairs, so there is very minimal, if any, risk to health.

Fans who want to emulate Ultra support, may have a place at a match. But I do not support ultra behaviour. It's as bad as supporting Man U when you live in Hull. It's the same wannabee seen as something you are not ever going to be as entering Britians got talent. ****ing chavis behaving badly, that's all.
You want to be ultras, then you should have got tickets for the Millwall home end and kicked it off. ****ing earn the badge don't play at it. Chav muppets.

From that comment you literally have no idea what the ultra movement stands for.

Don't I know what it was? Okay then, but at least you now know the Police claim that it was a flare, and the associated bollocks they spouted because of that lie is total hogwash. Leaves the rest of their "argument" flapping in the wind

I think we can agree it was a smoke device of some sorts that could cause respiratory issues ! and i never made a claim to know what the police have said !

More deaths each year are as a result of vehicle fumes than as a result of vehicle accidents. If people coughed up those car fumes, the results wouldn't be so bad, but they inhale them deep into the system because the particles are small

Agree, but i dont see a car next to me with the engine turned on while i am at a match ! and my main point was a flare a risk to respiratory issues which could be brought into a stadium and feel you side tracked a bit of the main point !

By contrast, smoke particles in the bombs are bigger, they have to be to be seen. As a consequence, you're unlikely to be able to inhale them past the nose and throat hairs, so there is very minimal, if any, risk to health

Agreed there is a long term risk of smoke fumes from cars and you said from the above. Back to my main point is there a risk from flares and with all the tarting and going round the long way and adding videos proving there is a coughing choking and gasping for breath and fear elements to a flare i wouldn't want my two year old son or myself near one

And what right has the person letting of the flare to put my family at risk , Did that person go round and ask permission before lighting the flare ?

And as i fear you suffer from Last Word Syndrome i will leave the last word for you :emoticon-0105-wink:

    Last Word Syndrome:

The Last Word Syndrome is characterized by, obviously, having to have the last word in any discussions or argument. Its secondary symptoms include a pathological need to justify this compulsion via proving the other party’s opinion is unworthy by uncovering any and all faults in others, incessantly harping on these as a means of validation. This is as opposed to, say, using facts and logic as a means of supporting ones assertions

I'm not in this personal argument but you clearly just posted that to dissuade him from doing just that.

    1) Nope, we don't agree. As I showed in the rest o my post and as you yourself showed with the school boys breathing the smoke in deeply, there's only a very minimal risk. Nothing has zero risk.

I mentioned the car fumes to demonstrate the irrational position you've taken, despite having nothing to support it.

The 'last word' bollocks you've posted is simply that, and you've drifted back to flares.

This was my first post on the matter! i thought pretty simple ? but Nooooooo with DMD and his last word syndrome had to justify this compulsion via proving the other party’s opinion is unworthy by uncovering any and all faults in others, incessantly harping on these as a means of validation. This is as opposed to, say, using facts and logic as a means of supporting ones assertions.

    He says, posting again. <doh>

That video you post demonstrates they're effectively harmless. The kids are breathing deeply and still choosing to be in the smoke. What's not clear is which bomb they're using.

It's not about point scoring or proving anything, by your own posts you're admitting to not knowing what was used and then ignoring the information provided to help you.

The bombs used are the ones used by display teams and paint-ballers, they are non-pyrotechnic sports smoke grenades.

Anyway, is it seems important to you. I'll let you have the last word. <laugh>

    *EDIT*

I suspect you're confusing something that can cause a short term. minor irritation, such as the school kids coughing, with ill-health?

If so, have another read on what I put about the size of the particles.

Sorry Newland tiger and BCC , As you can see i am not a big poster and just tend to sit back and read post rather then engage with people on them ! But for my part on reading threads and post this is exactly what DMD is, And when reading people simple post with a simple reply ! feel very little need for Last Word Syndrome
