No wonder supporters numbers and the atmosphere keeps dwindling!

Letting off a smoke flare is the ridiculous bit. You tell me just what there is to gain from letting off a RED flare in a crowd. Is it a fun activity, no. Is it a show of support, no. Does it make you appear hard, no. It's ****ing pants.
"We are Ull, look at me I've got a flare".
If he wants to let off flares, get him out to Afgan, he can put out as much smoke as he wants there.
It was a dumb thing to do and both of them deserve what they got. Football fans, smoke and heat are not a good mix.

Completely deserved, and will set an example.
It was their choice to break the law.
Let people off, and the stands will just get worse. If everyone stays within the law there can be some friendly banter and the stewards can stand off. Flares, fighting, pitch incursions, coin throwing, foul chanting etc. has no place in sport and is NOT part of the game. Excuses for it are hollow
This was a crowd who cheered Di Canio because of his political views(fascism).2 of us booed him and somehow lived to tell the tale.
Di Canio's quite entitled to his opinion, Bummer
They should definitely ban the England band, set of attention seeking twats. It just seems a bit of fun to add to the atmosphere; what next? those air horns banned incase someone lets it off in someone's ear? Ban the England band because the trumpet might effect someone's hearing, or a drumstick might slip out of the drummers hand and into someone's eye? Maybe ban clapping? Someone might catch someone elses face and they might have forgotten to cut their finger nails that morning.

can someone who thinks this action is a disgrace tell me what a flare adds to the crowd/atmosphere/experience other than some tool going to school or work on Monday and being able to act like billybigballs!
"how was the game?"
"I set off a flare"
"of right, how was the game?"
I think all the Hudds game stuff has exaggerated a few views about this incident.
