http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/mar/13/carlos-tevez-samir-nasri-city-clearout Ctiy might be having a clear out in the summer. Would take Dzeko in a heartbeat
City will find it very hard to shift these players because of the wages they are on, no one will match what they are getting at city, so unless they are willing to pay players of, they might end up hanging around the club. FFP I believe has a slight effect on them, will be interesting to see how this plays out.
I'd take Dzeko and Lescott, quality striker, and quality cb. Add a new goalkeeper, a new box-box midfielder with good defensive quality, and a new creative winger, and we're set. . Basically, we need 5 new players for me. We're going to have up to 5 departures anyways so need new faces.
Striker-Big Money One DM-Decent Money to be Spent CB-Big Money One Older GK with xP-Not too expensive A LW-Get a good one but not over-priced
Striker - Jovetic/Higuaine/Villa. DM - Wanyama CB - Hoewedes/Ogbonna/Albiol (Hummels would be the IDEAL defensive signing)
I concur with this. If Higs is available go for him. He's younger than Villa and better than Jovetic. Villa would be a good stop-gap for a couple of seasons, but that's all really. Wanyama has looked good, he's the physical beast that Arsenal need. A top-class CB would be great. Vermaelen is geniunely worrying me now. Arsenal looked significantly better without him last night.
John Cross saying we could be selling Verm and dumping Chez, due to Barca wanting Verm, and Chez not progressing as we'd hoped. Then again, it is John Cross.
The Vermaelen/Chesney is an "exclusive" in the Daily Nazi. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...maelen-facing-fight-save-Arsenal-careers.html
So it's Cross deciding to have a laugh. While it makes sense to sell Verm (he hasn't been great, and we can get a better player for less than we'd sell him for), dumping Chez is madness. He's still young, still got plenty of time to improve. Makes no sense getting rid. Though if we were to replace him with Asmir Begovic, i wouldn't complain at all. He's the best keeper in the league, and the only good thing about Stoke.
do we really need isco? we have wilshere, cazorla and rosicky whose best position is attacking midfielder. can't see any reason to buy him really.
One word: depth. Season after season we've run our best players into the ground and it's stifled our progression. A bit of rotation and a healthy bit of competition to let people know their place in the team is not guaranteed is just what the doctor ordered in my opinion.
We should be keeping a close eye on the Man City clearout sale as we may be able to pick up some real gems. Only issue is our pay structure. Once we sort this out then we'll be able to bring in some top players from where ever. We have the monies, we just need to pay them.
Isco is quality and he can play out wide when needed, he'd be a good buy and with Rosicky probably only having a year or two left with us (considering are usual approach to players of his age)Isco would be a perfect replacement. Buy him now and give him time to settle into the team. Having options to rotate and rest players is a good thing! Considering the deals we have done with Malaga already it would seem we know how to do business with them so hopefully he is a player we could get at a good price but still of the quality we want to bring in. We need to strengthen in other areas as well, but Isco would definately improve our squad.
