I still dont know why this is such a big thread, I want people to just post whatever they can regardless of where it came from or who did it originally
or they could just post the link themselves then it wouldn't be an original thread from someone else and they wouldn't bother pasting
I voted precisely because the thread title and question were so totally skewed, to try and counter-weight it a little. Maybe that was a mistake and I should of just ignored it as most others have done. Or, given that there is apparently a ârightâ and âwrongâ answer her, perhaps that is exactly what you intended? i.e. that only those who have the same view as you feel that they are able to cast a vote here? There are some interesting and valid issues to discuss here, and Thaiâs compromised suggestion is a potential starting point (although I personally wouldnât be in favour of it). However, although Iâm more than happy to have a reasoned debate to discuss the freedom of information versus crediting writers issue, this ludicrous âIs it okay to rip off fellow QPR fans; Yes or Noâ poll is not the way to have it. By the way, is this the same Northolt who posted more articles in full in his time as mod than the rest of us put together? A contribution which laid the very foundations of what this site has now become, and for which Iâll always be grateful. Are the rules different now that this isnât your turf anymore? Either way, Iâll tell you for a fact that we are seriously going to try and stop Kiwi, Nines, Norway and the rest posting QPR articles on here then we might as well all give up and go home right now. Forget all the protracted debate about Off Topic threads and NSFW sub-forums. In terms of QPR subject matter this site would be dead, save for the occasional thread about girls in bikinis. Thatâs not something Iâd like to see just to ensure other outside sites get a few extra hits.
I think a lot of people, including this lad are completely missing the point. It's about respecting the wishes of only a handful of other QPR sites & bloggers(even the king of C&P QPRreport does that). And anyone that does get that point,& still disagrees, especially after reading what roller said is a bit a CnT IMO.
Two points: 1. Firstly, there is no call for the abusive language. 2. Secondly, in response to your above comment, thatâs not actually what the poll asked. If it was, then you would need to define this âhandful of other QPR sites and bloggersâ Thatâs me done on this thread. Iâd like to say that itâs been a constructive debate, but it absolutely hasnât.
I tried to 'cut and paste' an article the other day.......but I broke the screen and the glass stuck to my fingers. I'll get my coat......
The problem I have is that I have been involved in the internet pretty much since it started and have watched it evolve. I have and use a bank of copywriters in my industry all of which now work for peanuts and have had to come to terms that there is very little original left apart from recycled commentary. Design and advertising is also the same as more and more people flock onto using the world's greatest invention - there is bound to a dilution. The actual skill of still making money and having true credibility is having to be very sharp and extreme to a point whereupon you are considered insane. People wishing to protect a creative concept best wise up early IMO as the audience trend is to want fast food. If you do it for love or for just personal satisfaction then simply post your thoughts and forget about them ... they are gone, they may influence, they become part of something else ... it can't be controlled is my point regardless if it's right or wrong. I like your posts and blog and like the fact that's is open and I am sure that it would have been used by other people and I would also expect you have been influenced by other writers/bloggers It won't change it will only get worse. I personally admire and love creativity but have had to come to terms with what people have done to mime in the past and so I am left with maybe a very empty viewpoint and I apologise for that. This culture however is different abroad in France i have found where creativity is still respected to the creator in my small circles
