As I understood it, international loans are considered as transfers by the FA so I don't know if the same rules apply? I mainly want them to sign permanent contracts so other clubs will stop moaning about us! I don't doubt that the players are committed to staying here
A number of Championship clubs are considering a bid for Manchester City full-back Reece Wabara, Sky Sports understands. The 21-year-old has just returned from a highly successful three-month loan stint at League One Oldham Athletic. The Latics are keen to extend his spell, but the England Under-20 ace is now attracting interest from the Championship. Watford, Birmingham, Nottingham Forest and Bristol City are amongst the clubs believed to be monitoring the situation.

With his form, rumours like this were always going to surface - which is why I want us to sign a few of the loanees up as quickly as possible. The Pozzo way is to sell when they believe the player's value is at it's highest, so the hope is that any low offer will be immediately dismissed! If Vydra stays with us and helps us gets promoted, and then performs in the Prem, there is no reason why he can't be worth in excess of £10m. My bigger concern is that Udinese will want him for themselves!
I dont know what say he will have... If up to the club, I agree..... he can only go up in value..... and of course if he gets us promoted... ...then the business is worth so much more to... a no brainer really....He stays <fingerscrossedsmiley>
It seems that players owned by UK clubs are worth far more than players perceived to have the same ability, but owned by foreign clubs. If this is true, then it would make sense for WFC to sign Vydra permanently. However, any success in the transfer market by WFC does not accrue to WFC, but the owners, who have 3 clubs to consider. Nevertheless, looking at this season so far, that is an implication with which I am content. It's all transient, so enjoy it whilst we may. It's a huge inprovement on the nonsense of the previous regime.
Another striker coming in? Luca Persico (@LPCalcio) tweeted at 4:37 PM on Mon, Jan 14, 2013: Udinese will loan forward Brayan Perea to Watford, once they've concluded negotiations with Deportivo Cali, according to reports.
Can someone explain what the advantage is, to the Pozzos, of signing players to Udinese then loaning them to us, rather than just signing them to us in the first place?
This was also reported by the Italian journalist who first reported the Pozzo interest. He also mentioned a Nico Castillo joining, but I can't find anything relating to anyone called Nico Castillo. I'm guessing it is just a typo for "Lionel Messi".
There is a 19 yo striker of that name who plays for Universidad Católica in Chile - maybe that's him. Alternatively, there is a blue vein cheese sold in Oz with the brand name Castillo - but somehow I think there's no connection.
He's been watched by a fearsome ex-Chelsea player/manager...that Gorgon, Zola! Is it getting my coat time?
Castillo is my wifes maiden name and shes not up for transfer unless a deal can be done with j lo coming the other way and i wouldnt accept hehhooooo in a blissset barnes moment of confusion!
