Sky Sports understands Derby and Watford have joined the hunt for Bournemouth striker Wes Thomas. Thomas recently took in a loan spell at Blackpool, and it is during his time at Bloomfield Road that he caught the eye of other Championship clubs. Blackpool are keen on making his move permanent, but they now face stiff competition from a number of second tier rivals. Watford and Derby would both welcome the opportunity to add a proven goalscorer to their ranks.
I was expecting them to be signed earlier in the window than later to be honest especially considering how adamant the club and GZ were about the option to keep them on
i don't think we need to worry too much, though it's strange that the club are looking at players outside of those 5...
Watford’s Mark Yeates, formerly of Colchester United, has been linked with a switch to Ipswich, despite making 21 appearances for Gianfranco Zola’s play-off chasers. Zola might be reluctant to sanction a move but sources at Vicarage Road have suggested the club’s Italian owners have a large part to play in transfer decisions.
09 Jan 2013 20:31:21 Aldershot will sign Bernard Mensah on loan for one month from Watford, after the Academy striker penned a new deal with The Hornets. Any comment H?
If a player is on loan to a club, can't his deal be made permanent at any time during the duration of that loan, even if it's outside the transfer window? I'm sure I've seen that happen before. Also, as far as the football authorities are concerned, these are permanent transfers, so I think it would be a lot simpler than usual.
I've never understood why they would sign permanently - they surely will stay registered to whichever club is in the better tax country i.e. why transfer them here if it attracts higher tax? The transfers alone would therefore cost money whilst any future revenues will also attract tax so whilst I'm certain they will be staying with us I am not so sure they will transfer permanently.
I think their might be a law on how long you can loan a player. But i'm not completely sure, My guess it's definately over 2 seasons, cos Ben Foster was with us for that period.
David Beckham will surprise everyone with his next move. He wants to spend more time with his young family and moving back to Hertfordshire. He is very interested in playing and coaching kids and see's the Harefield Academy that Watford FC run as a great way forward to begin with. His boys can be enrolled into the school and his wife is back amoung family and friends. Pozzo family are happy to make this happen and with their connections in Italy and Spain and now in Watford Beckham is excited about this way forward. Elton John has made his views clear and the pozzo family want this to happen. Beckham is no longer interested in money or playing in Prem as he looks to move onto the next stage of his life.......How do i know this ?? I put this post up before the papers annouced he was moving back to london and lets just say this is looking the way forward at the moment. Arf, lol, etc.
