It could be a corollary to the perceived value of players in UK being worth more than comparable players abroad. It would cost more to sign them directly to WFC (even li'l ol' WFC) then to sign them to Udinese, then loan them. Weird, but possible.

Vydra needs to stay fit and playing for us if we want to challenge for the top of the table at the end of the season. His goals are invaluable.
How long has Vydra got on his Udinese contract? I don't think there's any question of him being allowed to leave this month, even if the clubs mentioned are interested.
I know that Bond's contract finishes 30/6/13, but there has been no official announcement regarding contract negotiations, stalled or otherwise, that I can find, so what some taffs are saying on a Cardfiff forum, I'd take with a pinch of salt - I certainly wouldn't put it into the category of 'looks like it' just yet. As to a replacement if it does happen, there have been rumours about a loan keeper from Udinese - can't remember his name though.
