I agree and sympathise with anyone who is struggling with finances - but for the grace of . . . .

But this is about a football team playing in the senior national competition and a second string team is an insult to both us and the players - is there any wonder that some (a few) players end up thinking, what the **** . . .

If the club come back and say that is what a squad is for then they are a bunce of ****s and I thought better of them than that. There shoulds have been a spine of success and shape in the team to put in a competitive performance - SB says he does not know what went wrong, that only Jako, Macca and his son turned up - he's right, because the ****ing manager did not either! I normally praise SB, but this was wrong on a number of levels.

Indeed. We should have started with our main core of players and scattered young lads around it.

Personally, I'd give 10,000 tickets to school kids, but I'm not sure if it's allowed.

Cup v League has always caused this type of debate.
I said to my mate today, look how empty it is if we get through the replay and draw a big team here there will be more tickets sold.
It boils down to the opponent in the cup.
If we had Man Utd at home I'm sure a few more thousand people would be able to scrape the cash from somewhere to get a ticket.

No it hasn't ALWAYS caused this debate.

The Cup which should be respected has lost its value due to the ****ing Champions league and the PL.. the imbalance of money is stupid and has ruined football.

The FA cup isn't what it once was,so few teams want to win it unless they managed to hit a run to the quarters. Hence top sides treat it as a reserve game. They should just give the pass holders their ticket free (as if it was included in the season pass like at Man Utd it is).

Unless something has changed it's not included in the season ticket at Man U. At Man U to be a season ticket holder you have to agree that you'll BUY tickets for all the home cup games as well.

I know full well it was because of the line-up, that's my problem.

When we get promoted 16,000 or so City 'fans' will start moaning about new PL supporters and what not, but around half of them refused to come on principle today because the team wasn't going to be good enough. It's the exact same thing, glory supporting.

As I say, I've no issue with people not coming if it's down to money and other commitments, we've all missed games at some point I'm sure, but it's the fact that they openly admit it's not worth coming if the football doesn't meet their standards, which is no different whatsoever to only coming when the team is doing well.

Yes it is hence why it was only a tenner. Most people knew what would happen team wise as well. Any cup run wont hurt us as we have the players to use in the cup. Best of both worlds. t

It's not failing to come because we're not good enough though is it? It's failing to come because the club is showing they don't feel the game is important.

Not as important as the league games No it isn't. But for the squad players the cup games are very important or they should be.

We all agree I'm sure that fans who will only come to City if we're in the PL are hardly loyal and these people are often criticised.

My question is, that being the case, why is it OK to refuse to go to cup games because 'you don't want to pay to see a reserve side'?

If it was to do with money, work or whatever then fine. But not going just because the team aren't good enough for you is the same as only going to watch in the PL isn't it?

This has been my issue for a long time.

I have supported City for 20 years, during the good, the bad and the ugly. I've been there freezing cold at Boothferry Park, being able to shout to your mate from Kempton to the West Stand(Best Stand!) because there is only 2000 of you there.

I've been there through the difficult financial times, the uncertain times.

I never missed a home or away game all through my school years(as my uncle took me through good behaviour!).

I've bought less food in a week to be able to go to the games. I've sat hungry at night because going to tthe game was more important to me than anything else(people may think it's ******ed, maybe it was).

I was there, every game during our last season in the Championship before the Premier League. I came out of work and sadly couldn't afford another season pass. I didn't get the chance to see a single Premier League game. I've been there again, since we was relegated.

People like me and many others keep the club going when the part-time Premier League fans cannot be arsed to show up. Do these 'fans' not realise the club needs to generate income outside of the Premier League to stay afloat?

People can make their excuses as to why they cannot attend games in the Championship(other than Leeds ofc!). I've seen them all, "I don't have the money, times are hard. My cat has started nursery and it's on a Saturday". What I do find strange is all of the excuses that are made suddenly do not apply to the Premier League and everyone can find the time and money to attend the games.

It's true supporters like me, who keep the team going when the part-time arm chair Premier League fans disapear for 3 years.

I was at the Leyton Orient cup game last night. I went by my self. I sat there alone, watched the game alone and walked home alone. The reason I did it?....BECAUSE I F***ING LOVE THE TIGERS!

I am not claiming to be a hero. I am mearly telling people the fustration of real fans not getting to see Premier League football.

Obviously I have friends. But obviously they're like a large handful of City 'fans'. They do their watching on Sky Sports News.

I had family plans. I have been to enough cup games over the years to know that they are a huge waste of time. I was disappointed when we equalised TBH. Another game which could distract us from securing an automatic promotion place.

I didn't make the trip up for two reasons, I don't want to watch reserve team squad players showing why they can't make it into the squad, I cannot afford the time. If City were facing Man U would I go, no!
The FA cup only has an attraction if you are the underdog, but it gets lost if the first teams are not playing. I actually felt sorry for Steve Bruce, he saw that some players are taking the piss, out of the club and put of him.

He devotes hours each week in his activities for fans. unpaid work, that is done without any thought of his being a better fan than anyone else. We pay the same money for our seats, pies and pints. I'm a fan and so is he, that's it. Real fans my arse.

It does sort of hit a nerve, I find it mildly amusing. If fact I find it more than mildly amusing. You see I like the challenge of debate, even when faced with a complete wind up, I still like to see the debate move on.
Firstly, I don't believe a word that you have posted, it's all imagined tosh. Secondly, I do not care,I may pretend to but I reality is that I don't. Now if you had posted how you could only raise the money to attend games by shirt lifting in Vicky bogs, that I would believe.
