12.45pm kickoff so I'll be there at 11:00 and just say 'I'm here for some of the booze that WP paid for in advance.'

Hey guys. I've really tried to enjoy beer recently. Some are ok, but most taste like ****.

My Dad says you need to work to be able to enjoy the taste of Beer.

How long does it take for you to be able to appreciate the taste of beer? I've mainly been drinking vodka.

I believe I'm correct in suggesting Scientists have determined an average person takes about 20-30 attempts to like food they don't appreciate at first. I'd imagine alcohol is the same, being the conventional wisdom is that "beer has an acquired taste"...

    I prefer Cider, it's sweeter and I'm a metrosexual <ok>
Woodpecker is the sexiest drink I've come across so far, then coke and whiskey (minus the coke <whistle>), then vodka and coke.

Rum? Why does everyone love rum? I don't really like the taste of it in cakes so haven't bothered with it, but I may get merry before the QPR game to lift my spirits... Not today though, I find it awkward drinking near the winos who inhabit pubs by morning!

There is a reason pirates drink rum. You end up jolly without a care in the world. And it is the fruitiest of all the spirits. Dark rum and coke is a fantastic drink. As AB says a bit of captain morgan or navy is a must in any drinks cabinet.

The pricier Caribbean rums are something else. I have a bottle of Angostura 1824 and Diplomatico on the way for Chrimbo. My mate said to get a bottle of Mount Gay after learning of my rum obsession but at £100 a bottle I had to draw the line!

<yikes> Dark and dangerous. Had it once at a party. The night went as black as the rum after that!

Could tell you a good story about Mount Gay from a visit I had to Barbados, but it would take too long to type it out.

Great drink and great memories of drinking it.
