Agreed. There isnt anyone that really stands out. I think Steve Walsh will have to try and find us a gem. If we can find someone to play with Nugent then I think top 2 would be a very strong possibility. Waggy will be a big player for us but he wont be prolific enough, me personally I dont think Vardy is ready yet for this league as the main striker
@talkSPORTgeoff: Coventry City to play home games at Rushden&Diamonds? I think the 6,500 capacity might be a problem. (It's too big...) http://t.co/tlwv6PDu
i live about 5 mins from this ground, its where football clubs go to die, especially lower league clubs. Prob wouldn't bring in enough revenue for Cov though as its not big enough.
I think if Cov do go to play there they will be going there to die. I cant see anyway back from them, if Cov are going to survive they must remain at the Ricoh Arena and that means negotiating a deal that is suitable for both parties but at the minute it doesnt look like neither is willing/can meet an agreement. None of their fans will follow them 45 miles. When they play us they bring less then 1000 fans and we are closer then Northampton. I think this could be the beginning of the end for Cov Yes I love seeing them struggle and lose every week but I dont want to see them go bust
It's shocking to see a Club go under. You got to feel for the fans, it must be awful. We were so very nearly in that situation twice before...
Well Nene Park former home of Rushden and Direones is at the moment without electricity. The current residents (Kettering Town) are playing their games at Corby Town being unable to play at None Park. The maintenance on this ground has killed 2 clubs. I can't see Coventry going there it would be suicide.
Problem with the ground is that its too big for Diamonds and Kettering and will be too small for Cov, its at most a League 2 ground.
Im not so sure it will be too small They are averaging 10K now and they play in Coventry. Last year and the year before only brought 800 here and Leicester is closer to Coventry. I cant see more then 2 or 3K Cov fans going all the way to Northampton for a home game. And if that happens there will be no way their club and can recover and move forward. I firmly believe if they leave the Ricoh Arena it will be the last of them
They won't fill that ground, no way. Like P_F has said, not many will travel that far for their home games. It's how far I travel to a home game, and the town I live nearest in is dominated by Leicester fans. But Coventry's support/catchment area is nothing like the size of ours. I think about a 3rd will continue with it. One thing I was wondering. What happens when fans can't make it that far and have to get a refund on their season ticket? How much will Cov have to fork out for that? I guess a lot of people will do it. The ship is sinking fast and this move will only put another hole in the hull.
Much as I dislike Cov I hope that they come through this, know exactly how I felt as a fan when we were in the ****.
It seems Hull have a cup final coming up http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/184363-£30-Leicester-tickets My favourite post Recent history get a grip son. We dont give a **** about you, other then divisonal rivals there is no rivalry between the clubs. This is a completely one sided fantasy from you lot
Pearson was a **** when he left, it's **** all to with Leicester, the 'recent history' is about getting one over on the miserable ****er, the club he went to is a complete irrelevance. ****, you're dim.
Would you like a tissue? You can cry on my shoulder Not like we've already played you 3 times since and you've only 'got one over' on him once due to a last minute winner against 10 men Miserable club, miserable supporters
Yes, if we beat you he'll be well pissed off, particularly as he'll have me immediately behind him, telling him he's a **** for ninety minutes. I haven't got a moped, have the police found your brain yet?
