Do what I see as being blue through my eyes actually recognised as yellow through someone elses and vice versa. Since we have both been told that to recognise something by a certain name, does it actually mean we are seeing the same thing?

Why were old measurements done in 'feet'. Surely it would have differed from person to person and caused confusion?

Like in olden days before measuring tape / rulers if some massive bloke said you need to keep at least 3 ft away from the edge of a cliff, some poor midget might have fallen off.

Alternatively, if they said you need to keep one foot away from the edge, does that mean it's OK to have the other one over it?

Damn stupid idea of a measurement if you ask me.
