I had chicken and vegetables tonight. And so much is going on in my life its unbelievable!!!
 
Some very important Wedding related stuff today. Getting measured for my suit for the brother's more important Wedding in the summer. In case you haven't got the hint yet, i'm not watching the Wedding of our (most probably) future King.

It's the wedding anniversary of Adolf Hitler and Eva Braun. Got to love the irony.

I think I need to look away from Twitter and Facebook or at least get a bucket as people's tweets and statuses are making me want to throw up.
 
Sarge, thank goodness someone agrees with me! K was forced to watch some of it, cannot stand all the media hype and marketing ploys chainatorea get. Yeah thanks The Royals, a wedding were paying for, not invited too, forced to have it rammed down our throats, and now were excpected to throw parties for them.... jesus.

Mind you, kate looked fantastic, it seemed a right fancy affair!

Kate is a good looking girl so it wasn't a surprise that she would look good in her dress. I only saw her in her dress when I briefly came downstairs and it was on the telly. Mind you from what i've gathered on Twitter, Facebook and other outlets it would seem that Kate's sister Pippa got the most attention. I didn't see what the fuss was about with her to be honest, but that's just my opinion. There were a few tweets on Twitter wishing Harry good luck if you get my drift:emoticon-0105-wink: However I doubt he got lucky as Pippa is apparently going out with cricketer Alex Loudon.

Glad yesterday is over, all that wedding stuff was driving me mental. Fair enough, big day, get excited and that, but who wants to know every last little detail? Can't be doing with all this celebrity lifestyle ****e, people should do something to get excited about with their own lives.

And Jub, you've got me on a right Nirvana binge now, I've even dug out my "With the lights out" box set, full of rehearsal recordings, solo acoustics sessions and really raw demos.
Call me elitist, but the tracks you mentioned are the main singles, there are far better tracks out there, check out Bleach, cracking album.

Plus mate have you heard Foo Fighters new song? Cracking tune <ok> I like how Daves kept that Nirvana-esque theme with the hand. The songs a great track: Rope.

Well if I am, I haven't met any of them. I've been slammed by my aunt, my cousin, 2 of my best friends, my brother and some random person on Twitter for my various views on the Wedding and Pippa. It's been a little startling and hurtful really, I thought we had a democracy in this country and were allowed opinions, or has Cameron secretly made himself Dictator over the weekend as well as cutting more from the NHS?!:steam::emoticon-0101-sadsm

Sorry guys, rant over. I'm just really pissed off, and I cannot wait for Tuesday to arrive so I can get back to work.
 
Sarge, i'm sad and annoyed to hear that people have been saying stuff like that. Everyone is entitled to their opinion wether it is agreed with or not. I do agree with you. I also STRONGLY agree with you re Tories. <steam> so please excuse me if I rant, as I'm Labour living in a richly conservative area, which really winds me up!!!!!!!

Everything in my life is pretty great at the moment. Because let's just say things may be "blossoming" with this guy I know.

I must admit I voted for the Lib Dem's in the last election, the first time I have voted. I had been a bit of a Lib Dem supporter for a little while as I was a fan of Charles Kennedy and I still am actually. During the last election my support for Clegg grew, but needless to say like many that voted for the Lib Dems my support for Clegg has diminished, so I don't have an allegiance to any party right now. The last few years, the election and the expenses controversy have really made me more and more cynical about Politicians and I was pretty cynical about them before all that happened. I won't pretend i'm into Politics, I have a very basic knowledge of it, but over the past year I have become slightly more aware.

Haven't been up long, just seen the news about Bin Laden. That's come right out of nowhere. Great news all the same but i'd rather he was brought to trial for what he did but can't have it all I guess.

Al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden has been killed by US forces in Pakistan, President Barack Obama has said.

Bin Laden was killed in a ground operation outside Islamabad based on US intelligence, the first lead for which emerged last August.

Mr Obama said after "a firefight", US forces took possession of the body.

Bin Laden is believed to be the mastermind of the attacks on New York and Washington on 11 September 2001 and a number of others.

He was top of the US' "most wanted" list.

Mr Obama said it was "the most significant achievement to date in our nation's effort to defeat al-Qaeda".

The US has put its embassies around the world on alert, warning Americans of the possibility of al-Qaeda reprisal attacks for Bin Laden's killing.

Crowds gathered outside the White House in Washington DC, chanting "USA, USA" after the news emerged.

A US official quoted by Associated Press news agency said Bin Laden's body had been buried at sea, although this has not been confirmed.

Compound raided

Bin Laden had approved the 9/11 attacks in which nearly 3,000 people died.

He evaded the forces of the US and its allies for almost a decade, despite a $25m bounty on his head.

Mr Obama said he had been briefed last August on a possible lead to Bin Laden's whereabouts.

"It was far from certain, and it took many months to run this thread to ground," Mr Obama said.

"I met repeatedly with my national security team as we developed more information about the possibility that we had located Bin Laden hiding within a compound deep inside of Pakistan.

"And finally, last week, I determined that we had enough intelligence to take action, and authorised an operation to get Osama Bin Laden and bring him to justice," the president said.

On Sunday, US forces said to be from the elite Navy Seal Team Six undertook the operation in Abbottabad, 100km (62 miles) north-east of Islamabad.

After a "firefight" Bin Laden was killed and his body taken by US forces, the president said.

Mr Obama said "no Americans were harmed".

US officials said Bin Laden was shot in the head after resisting.

Giving more details of the operation, one senior US official said a small US team had conducted the raid in about 40 minutes.

Three other men were killed in the raid - one of Bin Laden's sons and two couriers - the official said, adding that one woman was also killed when she was used as "a shield" and two other women were injured.

One helicopter was lost due to "technical failure". The team destroyed it and left in its other aircraft.

One resident, Nasir Khan, told Reuters the helicopters had come under "intense firing" from the ground.

The size and complexity of the structure in Abbottabad had "shocked" US officials.

It had 4m-6m (12ft-18ft) walls, was eight times larger than other homes in the area and was valued at "several million dollars", though it had no telephone or internet connection.

The US official said that intelligence had been tracking a "trusted courier" of Bin Laden for many years. The courier's identity was discovered four years ago, his area of operation two years ago and then, last August, his residence in Abbottabad was found, triggering the start of the mission.

Another senior US official said that no intelligence had been shared with any country, including Pakistan, ahead of the raid.

"Only a very small group of people inside our own government knew of this operation in advance," the official said.

The Abbottabad residence is just 200 metres from the Pakistan Military Academy - the country's equivalent of West Point.

The senior US official warned that the possibility of revenge attacks had now created "a heightened threat to the homeland and to US citizens and facilities abroad".

But the official added that "the loss of Bin Laden puts the group on a path of decline that will be difficult to reverse".

He said Bin Laden's probable successor, Ayman al-Zawahiri, was "far less charismatic and not as well respected within the organisation", according to reports from captured al-Qaeda operatives.

'Momentous achievement'

Afghan President Hamid Karzai said Bin Laden had "paid for his actions".

A Pakistani government statement said Bin Laden's death "illustrates the resolve of the international community, including Pakistan, to fight and eliminate terrorism".

Former US President George W Bush described the news as a "momentous achievement".

"The fight against terror goes on, but tonight America has sent an unmistakable message: No matter how long it takes, justice will be done," Mr Bush said in a statement.

BBC security correspondent Frank Gardner says that, to many in the West, Bin Laden became the embodiment of global terrorism, but to others he was a hero, a devout Muslim who fought two world superpowers in the name of jihad.

The son of a wealthy Saudi construction family, Bin Laden grew up in a privileged world. But soon after the Soviets invaded Afghanistan he joined the mujahideen there and fought alongside them with his Arab followers, a group that later formed the nucleus for al-Qaeda.

After declaring war on America in 1998, Bin Laden is widely believed to have been behind the bombings of US embassies in East Africa, the attack on the USS Cole in Yemen in 2000 and the attacks on New York and Washington.
 
He should have been bought to trial. Al-Qaeda will have a new leader, terrorism will still go on, and there will probably be a backlash. At least Obama is back in all the Americans good book.

THIS DEATH WILL JUST SPUR RIOTS, ANGST AND VIOLENCE WITHIN AL-QUEDA, THEY SHALL TAKE REVENGE. THIS MAN WAS THEIR GOD. So his crackpot rebels armed now have more reason than any to take revenge. Typical naive people are cracking open champagne, ridiculous. His death will not stop anything, IT STARTS THINGS.

Nothing against Obama, he's a good president. Anything is better than that bloody crazy loon Bush. Crackers.
 
Yeh I don't get the complete elation over Bin Laden's death. Of course it's a big step in the right direction, but it's not a case of knocking off the head and the rest will follow. There will be a reaction from Al-Qaeda and there is a LOT of work to do yet.
