its a squad game nothing wrong with Carlo getting a game..if you doubt his credentials against a team like Carlisle then you havent watched him much.

Our brand new top class keeper might feel more disgruntled at the fact that he is playing infront of a bunch of kids and fringe players bar a few...that wont
make him feel too good..its called man management...something AVB gets slated for for no apparent reason bar what the chelsea fans have said.

i like Carlo and im more than happy to see him playing in such a match.

Hugo knows at the moment Brad is number 1 in the league. He'll want to play at every opportunity, regardless of whether a few kids are on the pitch or not.

Good man-management and AVB doesn't go well at the moment. The treatment of Dawson, Huddlestone and his time at Chelsea has proven that. I call it bad man-management for bringing in a brand new keeper only to be leaving him in out in two competitions thus far, especially when one of the players he's been dropped for is no where near the level of quality he's at.

I too like Carlo, he's been a model professional and in fairness has never let us down but when we have two top drawer keepers, why leave them both out for one who's way past it? No sense.

aah yes im listening to that aswell..our formation will be a bit of all 3 i bet.....433/451/442......AVB will be tinkering as the match goes on..i dont mind that

I don't mind the manager trying out a few things, but I can't really see how the players on the pitch fit together.
Guess he knows better than I do, but I find we often play poorly when I can't work out how we've set up. Square pegs, round holes and all that.

Agreed. Nothing wrong in AVB's choice of keeper this evening.

The Goons have gone ahead. Giroud puts them ahead from virtually their first chance. Shame.

i'd rather see carlo play in a game like this instead of Hugo,it would be our luck if the had played,he would have got injured.

i understand what you are saying.....i like the way AVB is treating his players.......and to see Carlo training as hard as the others..i just think its nice for him to get a game..everyone seems worried about Lioris but i got a feeling hes going to own the number 1 shirt....Carlo deserves to be shown respect and well played AVB for giving him a game.

The word I've heard used most about us in this half is "sloppy", I think.
Hopefully Villas-Boas will tweak things a little during the break and there'll be an improvement afterwards.

whenever i seen Falque he has looked lively...Vert getting a LB run out i suspect he may be playing there against United.

whenever i've seen him he looks ineffective, but he's put a decent shot in today - well done to JV what a buy he's turned out to be

Well pleased that Siggy has made a goal, one of the reasons i wanted us to buy him was his delivery, maybe he'll kick on now from what's been a disappointing start

so far AVB seems to have made a mistake in playing Townsend on the right, he should be on the left instead of Falque for me.

I'm completely fed up with the Lloris situation, but at least he should play in Greece I suppose

to me there is no way that Brad is No 1, Hugo should be, does my brain in.

I notice this has turned into the match thread BTW, just as well I started it

Arsenal get a penalty, so Giroud tries to add to his earlier goal... and the keeper puts it behind for a corner! <laugh>

2-0! Townsend hits it from distance and it's in. Good early hit, according to RL.

Make your mind up !!!

Earlier on this thread you said it was ok for Llorris not to be playing tonight. On the 'keeper conundrum' thread, you state it's unreasonable to throw Lloris in at OT, yet here you're (yet again) whinging about him not playing !!

I'm not really sure of the logic of leaving Lloris out for this one, to be honest.
Cudicini's still a capable pair of hands, but I'm not sure what he gets out of the experience, whereas the French captain's yet to play a game against English opposition for us.
