Sunderland are today giving Steven Fletcher his medical after agreeing a £14m fee with Wolves. Reports also say that Fraizer Campbell could be on his way out as Fulham are interested. the Black Cats also hope to take Jenas and Danny Rose from Spurs on season long loans and Wolves winger Matt Jarvis prefers a move to Sunderland rather than West Ham according to SSN. Nest week is going to be a very busy week indeed by the looks of things.
I certainly think Wolves have negotiated well to get £14 million for Fletcher and £10 million for Jarvis. There good but not that good.
I'd still like to see us sign a winger, partly because Aluko seems to be playing more central now so we only have Stewart who can play wide, and we need a bit more physical strength and height. Our set pieces are still appalling and we get bullied all over the pitch.
Indeed John. Its crazy money. £12m for the pair is more than enough and the way Big Sam was talking about Jarvis you would think that the Hammers were signing Messi. If both were that good Wolves would not have been relegated last season,, imo. I am praying that West Ham get relegated this season. Just how much debt can they take before the Bubbles do finally burst ? Phew that was close. We dont need him and can do better. Ryan Tunnicliffe for me without a doubt if at all possible. SSN and the London Mail have reported that Steve Bruce has asked about Fraizer Campbell from Sunderland. +++++ Other championship clubs that could be about to lose good players are : - Birmingham City player Morgan Gomis could be on his way to Rangers and Zigic is still hoping to get his move back to europe. Leicester City face a fight to keep Liam Moore as PL clubs move in for him. Ipswich Town close to a deal to take St.Etienne midfielder Guirane N'Daw on a season long loan deal. Blackpool could lose both Tomas Ince to Swansea and Matt Phillips to Sunderland next week. Huddersfield Town giving a medical to Norwich City striker James Vaughan ahead of a loan move to the Terriers. Middlesboro have won(if you can call it that) the race for Nottingham Forest striker Ishmael Miller on loan.
Hopefully the two lads at Blackpool are premiership bound, they'd get good money for both but not enough time to replace them without panic buying. It would make Blackpool a much weaker team until January at least.
Very true. But Blackpool can replace them during the International Break when the loan window opens up. But yes it would hit them hard.
James Vaughan to Huddersfield on loan, Ishmael Miller to Boro on loan and Tommy Smith to Cardiff on a permanent.
Ipswich have completed the signing of midfielder Guirane N'Daw from St Etienne on a season-long loan and Crystal Palace have completed the triple signing of Andre Mortiz, Yannick Bolasie and Darcy Blake. Busy day.
reports from mike white + others that adam johnson has signed 4yr deal with Sunderland. hope elmo is ready with pen in hand?
Is it just me and glennonslastpint who aren't that excited about Elmohamady? It generally follows makes sense to listen to previous fans of a player and see what they think and Sunderland fans don't rate him at all, so even with a different in standard by droping down a division he's hardly going to be amazing. For example everyone agreed before we signed him that Aluko was a great player and you can see when you watch him exactly what they meant, so it worries me that we are getting excited about signing a player that no one else wants or likes.
I agree with you. Just because a player has played in the Premier League doesn't mean they'll be any good in the Championship, especially when the fans of their previous club are pleased to see him go. Having said that, Bruce has managed him before so must think he's got something about him.
I do know a lot of Sunlan fans, generally they do give unbiased reports on fringe players, particularly players that may be leaving (see link to Sunderland website in Campbell thread). Everyone tells me Elmohamady is ****, **** winger, **** cross delivery, even worse at right back. Nobody has given me anything positive, I'll reserve judgement if we sign him, but the recommendations aren't forthcoming.
I seem to remember the Reading fans saying how sh*te Liam Rosenior was when we signed him, so it's not alwts the case, sour grapes sometimes
