You have one too TJPF. A nice comfortable win will put us all in good spirits and ensure that we have a good weekend. Here's hoping.
16 Over 9 Wickets Step forward Mr Onions you little beauty. Better still the 10th wicket he ran the lad out. What a day. On the Finn/Onions debate it would depend on the pitch for me. I do think England could have done worse than to play both here but it is difficult to leave out Jimmy or Broady. I just think obviously Lords is home for Finn and he has proved the correct selection. Onions is a real wicket to wicket bowler and the slope at Lords aids his already superb ability to get lb's. Interestingly both Onions and Finn have a similer weakness in terms of runs they concede for their wickets. So on a flat day when you need to build pressure they can be a hinderence. I was going to curse you Ba of Cisse for your 250 prediction. But Jimmy has just got the 7th and provided the tail don't wag it shouldn't be much over 250. We must make proper use of the traditonally best batting days in Day 2 and Day 3. A massive 550 plus wouldn't go amiss to really put them under the pump!
The problem with playing both Finn and Onions would be that you would have Onions or Anderson at 9 which would mean there wasn't enough batting from the tail.
Its where Broady, Swann and Bres have a one up. I know the traditionalists would say "its the batters job to worry about batting" but its not in the modern game. We've won many a game through momentum shifting due to spirited rearguard action by the tail. Steyn is annoying me now.
I know I've wished you all a good weekend and everything already, but before I do actually depart to prepare my war paint for the weekend, how old would you say is an acceptable age to have a mortal enemy? And, does it count if you don't really care they are your enemy? Just curious...
I think it's the Popular Front, given the "huge" numbers... Oh yay, a new visitor message waiting for me... This should be a good laugh
