Just out of curiosity, what was scoring / assist stats for Adam and Downing before they joined...?

Downing:
04/05 - 40 games 6 goals 11 assists
05/06 - 25 games 1 goal 4 assists
06/07 - 44 games 2 goals 14 assists
07/08 - 42 games 12 goals 5 asssits
08/09 - 50 games 2 goals 7 assists
09/10 - 34 games 3 goals 6 assists
10/11 - 29 games 8 goals 7 assists
11/12 - 40 games 2 goals 6 assists

2 years standout. 07/08 for goals and 06/07 for assists.

glad Arsenal are weakened but pissed off United will be pretty superb upfront now, ****ing twats

£24million.

Manks have strengthened then...in the one area they looked strong last year <laugh> ****ing scary in fairness but oh well....Fergie desperate to get one last title and obviously doesn't care about the decrepit squad he leaves behind :bandit:

On a side note....what a ****s trick to be Arsenal captain and be worshipped but leave to go to the manks

#horribletwat

Would laugh so much if he went then returned to his injured ways. £24mil for a player who has had 1 standout season, is 29, injury prone and has 1 year left on his contract seems a lot.

Think Arsenal have got a good deal from that and have strengthened well with Podolski, Giroud & Cazorla. If they can buy a LB and decent CB for cover then I wouldn't put them past a title challenge.

I feel we need to wrap up some signings soon before spurs and arsenal splash their new cash on our targets!

Arsenal won't get much out of the £6.50 Wenger has to spend on players. He may sign yet another 12 year wonder-kid that will end up in league 2 when he reaches the age of 18. Similar to what happened to the Hoyte brothers, Justin and Gavin.

To be fair, we aren't rivals with Man Utd, Man City or Chelsea at the minute. Maybe we aren't really rivals with Arsenal either but they are the ones we'll be looking at when it comes to fourth place so I am more on the happy side of this deal than the sad. If we do make the anticipated steps and get to the stage where Man Utd are rivals (in league terms) again, RVP will be that little bit older and that little but more fragile too <ok>

£24million.

Plus £200k per week wages over four years, that makes it a £65.6m package <yikes>

To be on the safe side, £150k per week over three years would be £47.4m which is still rather on the expensive side of budgets <ok>

I reckon Wenger knew RVP was going a while ago and that is why he has signed Podolski, Giroud and Corzorla for a combined £40.5m when never seeming to spend anything in the past <ok>

Last season was the only season in his career were RVP played more than 30 league games for Arsenal haha, hope he picks up an injury pretty soon even though I think he's a cracking player.

I wouldn't wish an injury on any player but i wouldn't be surprised if that happen. However, you also need to counter in Man Utd's luck factor <ok>

From Arsenal's point of view I dont think this is all that bad.

-Cazorla, Giroud and Podolski are good attacking signings.
-The rest of the team relied on VP to much, so maybe they will try harder now.
-Ramsey is finally looking like hitting form again after his injury.

Rumours that Dempsey deal back in action and move looking likely to happen. Same with Sahin although latest is that it is NOT with option to buy but instead first refusal (for whatever good that actually is). All quiet on Tello front
