Very encouraging performance, the team looks up for it which is the main thing for me, the whole team impressed and as I have suggested Downing will do well for us this season, I never got the inclination to sell him when we have hardly any options out wide anyway ! I think with Allen replacing Shelvey in the first 11 and having Shelvey as back up, One of Charlie Adam or Jordan Henderson´s time must be up, however saying that one of them could do a job with Lucas and Allen if Gerrard happens to be injured or in need of a rest. Obviously Jordan would represent a better option to keep for the long term but if we are concentrating on this season i´d personally keep Adam & loan out Henderson or even sell him if the price was right, pie in the sky but Sessegnon swap with Henderson ? taking the prodigal son back to wearside ? The squad could do with a bit of tinkering here and there but on the whole if the season started tomorrow i wouldn't be too disappointed with the squad. For the record I would sell Andy Carroll & if possible Joe Cole & replace them with better alternatives, that is all I´d do for the time being.
Yeah I think we need more guile, a midfield version of Suarez. Gaston Ramirez is the answer to that. £15.6 million is a steal and its the price Bologna want. Lets go get him before Spurs do.
I have to agree with that. However not necessarily a forward, thats why I would love to see Gaston Ramirez, he's a midfielder with the guile and trickery of Suarez. Combine that with Joe Allen and 4th will be ''the minimum target''.
I put this on the match thread: I know the opposition wasn't great but that doesn't realy matter when you have movement and link up play like we did in the first half, it was fantastic. I know it is only one game but I needed that to get me excited about the upcoming season. Reina - not much to do but did sort of flap at one in the first half. First game back too though. Johnson - Excellent and got a cracking goal. Both full backs had a field day with the space they were given. Skrtel - Did what he needed to and helped keep possession. Agger - Awesome to see him in the line-up, sticks two fingers up to Man City (commentator confirmed he would be cup-tied if we make group stages, I didn't think this was the case). Didn't put a foot wrong and made his usual excellent tackles too. Enrique - Got involved but I expect more from him, especially with the space he had. Shelvey - This lad is getting better and better, I am concerned about the impact of the immenant arrival of Allen though. Lucas - I thought he was a beast last night - god, how I've missed that lad! Gerrard - Awesome, linked up well with Suarez. Best compliment i can give is it was a bit like watching Gerrard and Torres again! Downing - Better, beat his man and got balls into the box, but is that down to the opposition defender? Let's see what he does in the season against better players. Borini - Good goal and worked hard, tried to link up with others but needs time to settle IMO Suarez - I thought Suarez was superb. The front four linked up extremely well Carragher - Not much to say really, kept possession and didn't hoof it (funny 'hoof' chanting though <laugh) Spearing - Again, not much to say, did alright. However, was the commentator on glue? He question who would start between Spearing and Lucas Adam - Same, not much to say, linked play with a few passes but nothing out of the ordinary.
I´ve seen youtube clips but that is all really, so cant really comment on him. If we swapped Carroll for Ba plus cash (10m would represent a good deal i think) & somehow managed to release Joe Cole or find a buyer (QPR or West Ham ?) we could then buy this Gaston character or another wide man, one with pace for a change would be nice. After that , theres not a whole lot more you could ask for ! this management lark is simples aye ?!
*blushes* Seriously though, I don't understand why bazray has to go mental everytime someone disagrees with him.
Agree with Lucaaas being one of the best LFC posters on the site. Theres loads of you, shame you allow the utter spastics to bring your whole board down to RAWKish levels though, we got rid our spastics.
Good point, hadn't noticed that before I have noticed he does not seem to like you? Why not? Bet you disagreed with one of his many ******ed posts and he was all outraged over it.
Probably because I called him out on his " If we signed micky owen, I will stop supporting the team. That is a promise" Bandwagon at it's finest. I just tend to ignore most of it normally but that got my goad a bit.
"The twitter" ? Definitely a bit of Liverpool in you. No I'm not! Unfortunately for everyone else I use it to search for news on transfers e.g put 'Agger' in the search bar and look at select people's twitter accounts (the likes of Tony Barrett etc) but deactivated my own account as I found I never had anything interesting to say
I ****in hated bridge of sighs, one of the worst posters ever on the sit and theres been some bad one. Disturbed he was. Who is wakka?
I normally don't tweet much but it is really great for keeping up to date with things. Of course there are the dumb tweets out there that are meaningless but at times liked transfer season there is loads going round, it is quite entertaining. Think I should change my name to Bluuuuf? Baz says I need to be more original
Definitely agree, not far behind me to be honest in terms of high quality posting and valued member of the board. ...Bluff has some way to go, he goes way too 'off topic' at times. Something I never do.
