I'd agree with all that you have put - market price about right. The problem is that he would likely be exposed if we were to go up ... but that is a long way off at this point ...

We're only after a 4th choice CB, nobody special.
Someone who the gaffer has previously worked with and has with experience in this division all for only 200k wouldn't be bad.
But I agree, I hoped for someone better.
