Please yourself Syd, your opinions generally don't impress me much either tbh. If you are happy with the actions of Clark and Bruce then that's your choice. They fair infuriated me. Wearing a SMB T-Shirt and subjecting us to a post war record humiliation at the Sports Direct may be your idea of good behaviour but it ain't mine. Personally I prefer to disassociate myself from those 2 than Sunderland supporters but hey, you fire away tiger.
And you always get the point don't you Syd? Mmmmmm? Obviously I don't possess the massive intellectual prowess of Coxhoe man and bow to your superior being O Svengali of everything. Oh Boy? Inflated ego's abound again in the south Durham area.
We lost 8-0 to West Ham in '68 and to Watford in '82 according to statistics. I'd choose 5-1 to Newcastle over those two results any day. I'm with Syd. No excuse for the hatred, born into it or otherwise. 'A man whose views at 50 are as they were at 20 has wasted 30 years of his life.' Ali.
It was a combination of the players and Bruce that led to the 5-1 defeat I don't understand how you aren't embarassed fo ryourself sitting there claiming that Bruce didn't do his best for your club. Fair enough if in your opinion his best wasn't enough, but to suggest he didn't even try his hardest is frankly humiliating for you.
Like I said Cest, totally missed the point, again, BTW I dont need a massive intellect Cest, you make a fool of yourself all by yourself, I just point it out
The fans were fantastic, I loved every second, good point mate well made. That, again, can't be something you blame Bruce for though. Will have affected the players no matter what Bruce did.
Brucey bottled it. Not purposeful, I just think the occasion and spectacle was too much for him. Couldn't get the best out of the players. He choked, our team choked, most of our fans didn't choke. Pardew stepped up (still don't think he's god's gift mind), your team really stepped up and your fans stepped up. Disaster for us, great day for you. **** happens.
It was Chrissy H managing us at the time actually mate But I agree Bruce "bottled it" in terms of being afraid to go for the win, but that doesn't mean he deliberately threw the derby. He was scared to lose, that is normal.
100% in agreement. In fact I can't believe people are willing to forgive being humiliated by geordies. Bruce, Chopra, Lee Clarl, McMENEMY. How many more do you want before the 'happy clappers' realise , these people are Geordies, devious, sly, underhanded awful people. Please NOMOREGEORDIES FFSAKE!!!!!
Bruce. Improved your club's finish every year. Clark. Played very well for you before admittedly mugging you off, however anyone honest would say that if it was the other way round and one of our players did it, you'd think he was a legend. So don't be a hypocrite, please. Chopra. Played a pass that was an inch away from defeating us. He chose the wrong option, but that's an honest mistake, Jones was a fraction away from you heralding Chopra as a hero. McMenemy. Fair enough, did very badly, but he first managed Bishop Auckland so I love him for that.
FFSAAKE are you all fcking thick? I would rather get beat 5-1 off newcastle than lose 8 to watford or west ham well I wouldn't I can take getting hammered off watford or west ham not fcking newcastle. We have a mag on this post telling us how well Bruce did for us, obviously laughing his knackers off at some of u defending bruce and saying to himself 'these mackems are fcking stupid'. Fcking hell the way some of you are on here you think u supported everything newcastle. They hate us and I hate them, fck them.
No, I think you were right to sack Bruce to try and take the next step, but he took your club forward and some of you refuse to admit that despite all the facts.
HE took the club nowhere and should have been sacked on the night of the humiliation, one of the worst feelings I ever had after a game. I do take your point that he was given a new contract after one of the worst runs in the club's history. Baffling. Bruce and Quinn were cuddling each other in the tunnel after a 2-2 home draw to west brom, that sums up their ambitions. Chopra missed an open goal deliberately and Lee Clark did play well for Sunderland, you are correct. However, his later actions proved what some of us have known all along Geordies are as devious as Keiran Fallon. There will be people on here who can't see that Geordies are basically taking the piss out of them. How come I just don't know. You are a mag Cheik therefore you love Bruce, I don't think he ever moved from his Newcastle home where he must have been the biggest hero on that estate and laughing his fat arse off.
He improved your league position every year, you can't claim he didn't take you forward. I happen to agree with you that he should have been sacked after the 5-1, you just don't recover from that. Chopra did not miss on purpose, he made a poor error, but it still almost worked.
And how do you know Chopra missed deliberately? you can think he did but you cant know? All Geordies you say, how about the many who support Sunderland, we have many on this board? If Bruce should have been sacked what about the players, what do we do with them?
Of course he missed deliberately. I just can't understand how people could support a geordie who lost a derby 5-1 to geordies. Baffling. Do you honestly think the mags would have had a mackem in charge and would happily tolerate if he managed to be so incompetent as to lose to us 5-1. I can't belive ppl still defend the fool
