It's the pro Bruce camp who deserve pity. I can't believe that there are people still ignoring the facts that he was useless (1 home victory in 11 months) and saying he was a good manager. Face facts he was incompetent. Unbelievable that there are still happy clappers sticking up for the fat geordie bastard.
You miss the point son, not unusual in the brain dead, we are not Bruce lovers just not foul mouthed brain dead anyone from north of the Tyne haters. No w go and get on with your soup
Bruce was way out of his comfort zone and the job here far too big for him to handle. Heis now where his ability belongs - Hull City in the Championship. He will probably do canny for them but he cant ever be a top half EPL manager as he just hasnt got a clue how to sustain that sort of challenge. He precided over slumps at B'ham, Wigan and twice with us. I am so relieved he was dismissed back in December, or we may well be preparing for our opening fixture this August in the capital v Charlton not Arsenal.
Yes you are you are the 'happy clappers' bruce 'give him time' he might win another game in 11 months time. Basically the happy clappers and all a bit thick. I stand by my position all geordies should fck off back to newcastle and support newcastle.
This is the sort of talk that makes people think we're backwards in the north east. Bruce is a good championship manager. A poor premier league manager. Where he's from and his weight don't come into it. You're embarrassing yourself. I pity bruce, I pity those who can't see his shortcomings, if there are any, and i pity you.
I have said many time I have no problem with anyone being critical of Bruce or anyone else, my problem is senseless abuse for the sake of senseless abuse, I find it embarrassing and a very bad image of my club and its fans, just my opinion. I certainly get annoyed and embarrassed at abusing anyone just because of were they live or who they support, stupid, ignorant and not needed.
I get that you guys wanted him gone (most of you) and eventually you got exactly what you wanted, and it appeared at first as if the players felt the same, so fair do's, but I maintain that a massive part of Bruce not succeeding was down to the distinctly unqualified superior who was always sat on his shoulder. Niall Quinn will, for obvious reasons, always be highly regarded by your supporters, but he was ruining your club from the inside because he was not qualified to be in his position and I'd bet all sorts that Martin O'Neill only took that job on the provision that Quinn was removed soon after. Your future, from a neutral perspective looks a whole load brighter without that drunken idiot in the high chair chucking his toys around the place. Bruce was a colossus for us, and he will always be highly regarded by all at United. You shouldn't forget that he was probably brought in to plug the leaks, steady the ship and restore a bit of normality after a turbulent time under Keane. Your very inept chairman/chief exec (whatever Quinn's real role was) handed the man a 5 year deal in the midst of a massive losing streak, I recall, that was the stage where Bruce should have been thanked for his services and replaced as he'd more than likely fulfilled his job criteria - but by that time you had much bigger aspirations.
Bit harsh to say Bruce is a good Champ manager, poor Prem manager imo. You improved league position each year under him I think, and Wigan and Brum were both better clubs after Bruce left than before he took over.
Yeah, my views are distorted because I hate a player who was playing for a team who were nothing at the time. I also hate Andy Cole and Peter Schmeichel by the same reasoning, despite them being part of the Class of '99. Dismiss my theory all you like, it's only going to be proven right inevitably unless you take a monumental step backwards over the next few years.
Ah the Bruce debate, no manager alive or dead ever gets transfers right. IMHO cos we did not have decent striker and never really replaced Bent, although some other of SBs signings were good, we were always in trouble and in the last 11/12 months SBs results were not good enough and he deserved the push.. As for him being a Geordie so what...he is probably more red devil than anything else. P.s. I was born in Gateshead and lived in Hebburn Jarrow and London and now in Durham, this place of birth argument is rubbish it may be a new 'ism' regionalism! Of course you cannot forget the chopra miss either. SB was born in Corbridge and was fat...but he had to be sacked cos of very poor results over nearly a year not cos of physique or place of birth,...it was good job that MoN came in when he did cos if not we were likely to be relegated!
It's always the mags who love Bruce doesn't that tell you something. Another example here from cheik the room when he is flattened by a dwarf tiote.
You seem to be omitting the fact he actually declared himself to be a die hard mag some time ago in interviews, admitting he used to go to games as a kid and again spoke about his b&w allegiances when he became our manager? I said at the time it would only raise its ugly head if he ****ed the derbies up? I'd say our biggest post war humiliation in his first attempt kinda sealed his fate. He was never going to allow his boyhood club to be beaten by the old enemy. Once a mag always a mag. Lee Clarke showed his true colours as well in the end. That's why I don't want anymore b&w filth at my club either in a playing or managerial position and before the usual cak about Stokoe is paraded around again, can you ever have imagined him losing a derby 5-1 in such a humiliating fashion, OR more importantly wearing a t-shirt that said SMB on it? Andy Carroll, who unbelievably is fancied by some on here, would have one on as soon as he thought no one was looking and would rip the piss out of us in a flash? FACT.
sorry Cest but that just embarrassing so can I please dissociate myself from those comments and let the world know that not all Sunderland fans are so biter and twisted, bring on the abuse.
