Yeah it's ridiculous, Brazil are essentially being punished for qualifying early and being successful, other teams play more competitive games because they have to and their rankings go up?

It's like the Championship winners getting ranked lower than the play-off winners because the play-off winners played more games!

This! Good way of comparing it. The whole points rankngs system has always been ridiculously flawed.

How we can go out in the Quarter Finals of the Europeans and the go up to top 4 in the world is crazy.

As far as I'm concerned, the rankings mean nothing.

They lost it ages ago to be honest. Ranking systems have always been pointless and flawed. They've tried several ways to alter them instead of just accepting there is no way of creating a system than actually works.

Instead of rating it on the last 4 years why don't they just base it on the last X number of games? Would mean teams wouldn't get punished for playing less.

Not to mention the stupid active defending they've introduced into their games... Let me select the defender I want for crying out loud!!!!!!

Oh... it's just me...

Yeah i was going to say did they ever have the plot in the first place. Rankings always been totally flawed. Of course its not easy but must be a better way than being used now.

To be fair there probably isn't. They'd be better off just accepting that. The problem you have is trying to rate particular matches. No continents indivivdual tournament for instance mirrors another. Plus you have nations that progress rapidly as they get a golden generation of players (no, not like our supposed one, like Spains!!) which the rankings have no hope of keeping up with. Then you have to factor in the friendly games which are ranked. Why? Half the teams don't even bother trying or sending a full team. To be honest I've named three problems but due to the number of nations the problems run into the 100's.

Its all too much of a mess to sort out. The problem is they have to have some kind of ranking system to organise tournaments.

I don't usually have a lot of sympathy for anything FIFA does but I think the rankings debacle is not something to hold them to account for. Taking bribes etc is though ;)

I have a few suggestions:

1. Each country could send someone (for arguments sake, let's say me) the hottest brunette female they can muster. I will then rate the nations based on, I don't know, let's say the "performance" of each girl... But before you put that potato sack over the random slag from Bigg Market and bundle her into the boot, I like classy ladies.

2. Base the rankings on a "friendly league" (where nations are divided into 1-9, 10-19, 20-29 etc etc and play mostly each other in international breaks) and then on tournament performance. That way it would pretty quickly establish the better teams, and still leave space for playing other teams for the money/diplomacy etc.

3. I like the first one best.

This is too true. 30 taps on L1 and 5 goals conceded later you MAY get a centre back. Won't guarantee it though.

Option 1. I think you will need some help with this task. I'll take the girls from Brazil and Sweden. Happy to help.

I'm afraid it doesn't work like that, it all goes down to rep power. The girls will come to ACS and myself.

FIFA have decided that you and ACS are unsuitable judges due to the amount of time you spend in brothels. 5 year ago you'd have been fine but after the cash for votes scandal they can't afford any more bad publicity. Don't worry me and JPF can sort this out.

<laugh> Hahahaha

See Fifa, it's easy!

Somebody has to check the brothels out and make sure the hygiene standards are met. It's a very important job and it's all for the good of people like your good self.

Glad someone shares my pain... Why the Fifa gods decided to implement a system where, on a computer break away, you can't select the player who can actually catch the striker, I will never know... All we can do is masturbate the sadness away (until Fifa use my new suggestion).
