In fairness, VDV is playing at his peak now, and injuries could start catching up with him more and more as he plays on, in a couple of years if he was to go back to the Bundesliga to be closer to his wife you cannot blame him, plus there would be a 24/25 year old Sigurdsson ready to step into the role. If VDV really wants to go then by all means let him but I do worry Levy still doesn't see the extra value in us keeping older players like VDV and Parker, only seeing their ability to command a fee decrease.
 
Is Levy really that desperate for the cash though, I mean assuming Modric goes (sick of him being a tart) then that's £30m+, is flogging VDV really a viable option when you would make £10m-£12m tops?

He preferred the option of buying Diarra for about £15mill than Parker for £5mill last summer so I wouldn't put it past him.

Keep dreaming about a Spurs collapse - which is the only way you'll finish ahead of us - as long as it keeps you warm at night.

Hope VdV stays for a couple more season too. If we do get Gilfi then working with VdV will be a great help to him.
 
Dan Roan on Twitter claiming Gilfi will sign by the end of today.

Not sure how significant that is but he maybe wouldn't twitter it if he wasn't sure, right?
 
The Mousers are going to be suicidal at this news. They were getting ready with their street-bunting and Cilla Black records, but this news will most definitely stop the street parties across Mersyside.

My real question to them is this. Given that we've bought the only real asset that Brendan Rodgers could have nicked from Swansea, what's the point of his appointment at Klanfield, now, exactly?
 
I think we have just done a great bit of business in signing gylfi sigurdsson if the reported £8 million fee is right when u think what we have spent that kind of money on before this guy looks a player to me young lots of energy (which sometimes we lack!!) and he can score a goal as we all know! But we really need to sort out center half and strikers AVB get it sorted
 
AVB is probably still waiting for his logon for the computer at his desk and for his work mobile to arrive. Give the chap a chance!
 
my girlfriend, who couldn't care less about football but i tell her anyway, has already nicknamed Gylfi as "the little dragon" as apparently Gylfi sounds like a little dragon's name.
Think it will catch on?
